If you’re looking for an amazing time rafting with friends or family, I can’t stress enough how much I recommend Rolling Thunder River Company in GA. I took my boyfriend and our closest friends for his birthday. They were able to accommodate our group of 7 to stay together, they were clear about us all needing a certain footwear ahead of time so we were all prepared. They were extremely knowledgeable and my friends and I felt extremely safe out there. We also had the most AMAZING guide, Nessy! He knew exactly what to do at all times, he kept us all laughing, and he truly made our trip the best it could be. They also take such great photos of your party and sell them for a very reasonable price. Thank you so much RTRC and Nessy!! Shout out to Quiznos too for the extra pic we got :) See more..

    - A wonderful day on the river

Met up with 14 friends, we reserved kayaks from here in advance. Very low-key and friendly service. Cost was $35 for rental between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. They take the kayaks to a put-in point at a park a half-mile away and you can park over there. They demonstrated for us beginners how to operate the kayak (each one has a life jacket) and the paddle and there's a business card you can call to have them come by and pick up the kayak when you return back to the park. The Yellow River is very calm. Only after we'd paddled a few miles upstream was there any kind of current and of course it was nice to go with the current back down. The river didn't seem too deep -- you can stand up in it at spots -- and overall it was a great outing for all. Bring sunscreen, a hat, some water and a lunch! See more..

We camped at Indian Springs. We drove over to Monticello to tube the Ocmulgee River. We stopped at Sac-O-Suds and paid for our tubing. It was $12.50 per person to do the short run. That included shuttle, life vest, and tube rental. We were told it would take about 2-3 hours. We were taken by shuttle to the put in spot on the river. We got in and off we went. It was very relaxing. The water felt wonderful and was a little cooler than I thought it would be. It was 95 degrees outside so the water was refreshing. We had dragon flies that stayed with us and landed on our knees and our tubes. It took us about 1 hour and 30 minutes. We were told we would see stairs on the side of the river and that is where you get out. We left our tubes at the bottom of the hill and took our life jackets back to the store. We will definitely do this again with our kids. It was great! See more..
