The Best of Times

If you’re looking for an amazing time rafting with friends or family, I can’t stress enough how much I recommend Rolling Thunder River Company in GA. I took my boyfriend and our closest friends for his birthday. They were able to accommodate our group of 7 to stay together, they were clear about us all needing a certain footwear ahead of time so we were all prepared. They were extremely knowledgeable and my friends and I felt extremely safe out there. We also had the most AMAZING guide, Nessy! He knew exactly what to do at all times, he kept us all laughing, and he truly made our trip the best it could be. They also take such great photos of your party and sell them for a very reasonable price. Thank you so much RTRC and Nessy!! Shout out to Quiznos too for the extra pic we got :)

Nantahala and Ocoee the same week
A family of 9 on our first rafting trip had an amazing time with Nick and Ash on the Nantahala! Our guides were fabulous! While Ash did a GREAT job making the trip enjoyable for my special needs adult daughter and my 75 year old mother, the raft of 20 somethings were living it up with Nick! They both did a great job of trying to keep out 2 rafts somewhat together so that we could enjoy it as a family. Nick had his group sold on rafting immediately and before I knew it, 6 of us were scheduled for a middle Ocoee trip a couple of days later with Joe as our guide. This was an AWESOME ride! Joe kept it crazy and fun and it seems we were able to provide some campfire talk for the guides that night with an epic wipeout that he said was a one in a million chance of happening in the location we pulled it off. Luckily, Lucas and his group were able to rescue us and the trip continued! We even managed to finally catch up with a missing paddle from the wipeout. I would definitely do this trip again and all my 20 somethings would agree!

A MUST DO! Awesome, safe staff…and so much fun!
Shoeless Joe and the entire staff did not disappoint! We were white water rafting virgins…from the booking through the entire experience they made it so easy and us feel so comfortable. Booking: Make sure if your date isn’t available on line to call! Once we were booked the communication was seamless. They email waivers and follow up with every detail you need to be prepared. As long as you read it all you can’t help be feel ready! Trip: We arrived early as requested and it was as easy as giving our name and wait. BUT because they do everything ahead of time once everyone arrived early we left early which gave us more time on the water. We chose the lower half trip and it was great. You do carry the raft, have to paddle, etc so yes it’s some work and ability but given some of our fellow adventurers it wasn’t that hard. 20 min bus ride there and back to the launch but other than that all rafting! Absolutely try it (older kids and teens for sure too!). We will be back for the upper half! Thanks Shoeless and staff…it was a blast!
