A beautiful natural park right in the heart of Roswell. There are several different levels of trails to choose from: Red 2.5 miles, Blue 2.0 miles, Yellow 1.1 miles. The trails are well maintained. Lots of trees here. Small stream running through the park, and lake on the Red and Blue trails. There are lots of benches and swing seats right by the water so you can repose and have a picnic. Neat pavilion at the starting point of the trails. There are several maps posted as you walk the trails, so you know where you are. Also markers indicating how far you are on the trail. There is also a big open field where you can lie down and read a book, have a picnic, play frisbee or fly a kite. We love this park for a hiking. See more..

    Eastside Trail image
Running 2.5 miles from downtown Covington to Eastside Highschool, the Eastside Trail is Newton County's newest multi-use greenway trail. Opened in early 2013, the 10-foot-wide concrete path begins off Ramsey Drive in Covington, just west of the Newton County Public Library. The first .6 miles meander through a woodland area behind the library and the Newton County Health Center. After winding gently though the woods over rolling terrain, the trail drops down to cross Martin St at the intersection with Hazelbrand Rd. The trail features four wooden boardwalk sections that traverse forest wetlands and a tunnel beneath the Covington Bypass Rd that allows pedestrians and cyclists to pass safely beneath the traffic overhead. On the east side of the bypass, the trail continues east and then runs between pasture land and woods south to the high school. At the northern endpoint parking is available behind the Newton County Health Center (8203 Hazelbrand Rd NE, Covington, GA 30014). Visitors walk through Chimney Park to access the Eastside Trail. At the southern endpoint visitors can park at Eastside High School (10245 Eagle Drive, Covington, GA 30014) when school is not in session. See more..

Walked the 4.2 mile trail on Monday. This paved trail winds through the woods alongside Camp Creek & the CSX railroad tracks. I walked the spur trail from Killian Hill Road to Lilburn City Park (located in Old Town Lilburn) & then on to Lions Club Park. Most of the trail is shaded which really helps during the summer months. Along the way there are boardwalks & bridges as well as picnic tables and strategically placed park benches. There are restrooms & plenty of parking at Lilburn City Park. Safe and well maintained. Open sunrise to sunset. See more..

We visited on Tuesday morning and spent over an hour exercising on the 0.3 mile paved multi-purpose loop trail that circles the park. The center of the park is a large meadow where kids were playing and geese were freely roaming around. There is also a small fishing lake with a board walk (more clean up work is definitely needed around the lake. A lot of discarded trash.) Amenities include: Kid’s playground, outdoor basketball courts, restrooms, covered picnic tables, and grills. Open daily sunrise until sunset. Plenty of parking. BTW...The park is currently being expanded. Additional trails and more new amenities being added. The new addition will open later this year. See more..
