Must see. We had a great time. So glad I didn’t let the 3 mile narrow gravel road scare me. We made it’s just fine with my 11 year old Toyota Sienna - took 29 minutes at 19 mph- bite well worth the River and bridge. We spent a few hours hiking around there as well.See more..
It wasn’t out of our way, we stayed about ten mins and glad we saw it. We had never seen a old bridge like this in person, just in the movies. If you like stuff like this then it’s worth it. Sad to see that people are selfish and write graffiti on it :(See more..
Enjoyed walking across bridge and reading history related to Cherokee Indian Removal Act. The park could use some beautification improvements but nice hidden gem. See more..
4.5Elder Mill Covered Bridge(49 reviews) - Peaceful place in nature, off the beaten path! Monday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent < 1 hour Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Bridges
We live close to this old covered bridge. There isn't a lot of parking but it's worth the visit if you are in this area or passing through. If you love old covered bridges and dirt roads and the view of water running over rocks; you'll enjoy this place! It's peaceful, quite and once in a while you can see you a deer walk by. The architecture of the bridge is interesting. Makes a great place for prom, homecoming and senior pictures too. See more..
While hiking the Heritage Park Trail I ended up at this covered bridge. There is not an area for pedestrians to walk through but you could read about the history of the bridge. It is the only bridge in the metro area that is covered and still in use. This covered bridge gets hit all of the time by terrible drivers that cannot read the height restrictions. See more..
What a stunning view. We were on a kayak in the lake and it was breathtaking once we came through the other side into the cove. I didn’t even want to disturb the moment to take pictures. See more..
4.5Euharlee Covered Bridge(30 reviews) - Quaint Little Bridge Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks • Bridges
A lovely little place very popular with tourists and locales where you can find families, couples, and people taking pictures next to the covered bridge. As so many love to go there for photo shoots, you may have to wait a bit to get the covered bridge by your lonesome. The bridge is a bit old and weary; the wood at times feels it may allow you to plummet into the river/creek below. There is some stone structure nearby. ECBridge is a relaxing place to sit upon the grass and ponder away life's many mysteries.See more..
My husband and I found ourselves in southern Georgia recently. Thumbing through the local magazine, we found this historic bridge. Not only was the bridge very cool, but we were fortunate to have stumbled upon the Meriwether County annual dinner on the bridge. Utmost in elegance, delicious meal, and surprisingly great local wines. A night to remember!See more..
This is not far off a main road but seems to be in the middle of nowhere. There are actually 2 entrances for each side. The first one was parking only and you can't get to the other side as the bridge is gated off. The other side had the historical signs, so it is really the main entrance and is on a dirt road past someone's gated estate. It's worth a short stop if you are in this area and there is no cost.See more..
Excellent place to experience nature, peaceful, quiet, and great photo opportunities. Also neat to see the way things used to be built.See more..
