  1. 5.0 Anna Ruby Falls (2.845 reviews)
    - Worth the Hike
    Thursday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Waterfalls
    Anna Ruby Falls image
This is a short half mile paved hike. It does have a steep incline near the end, so we recommend pacing yourself. The falls are beautiful and definitely worth it. We did see a large age range hiking. I personally would not recommend this for toddlers, as there are steep drop offs on the sides of the trails. Though we did see several toddlers. I also would only recommend strollers or wheelchairs for those who are physically strong to push up a steep incline, or who plan to take breaks on the way up. There are benches along the path. There is a nice gift shop and friendly staff on the premises. It probably took us 30 minutes to hike up, view, and hike back down. They do charge $5 per per adult. 2. 4.5 Toccoa Falls (390 reviews)
    - Small piece of joy
    Thursday: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Waterfalls
    Toccoa Falls image
We stayed overnight in a nearby town and asked what we should not miss before leaving the area. This was strongly suggested. It was a 45 minute easy drive in our small motorhome onto the campus of Toccoa College. The parking lot was large and easy to park in. The tiny fee is paid in the Welcome Center followed by a short, easy walk up a gravel path that runs along the running creek flowing from the falls. The beautiful Falls appear at the top of the walk as you walk around the bend. We read a memorial to those who died in this area in 1977 following a massive flood. The area serves as an homage to them. We were there on a Monday morning in February under a bright blue sky and bright winter sun. The angle of the sun lit up the bottom of the falls in a stunning rainbow of colors. I was able to capture it in a picture but the real sight was more spectacular. Better to see this beauty in person. I highly recommend you fit this small green in if you are in the area. See more..
  3. 4.5 Helton Creek Falls (347 reviews)
    - Difficult for my parents but beautiful falls, easy for most!

Wonderful falls. There was a good amount of water flowing when we went Thanksgiving week. We brought our 18 month old and he hiked much of the trail, but it was too difficult for my 74 year old parents. There are some up and down parts, some tree roots to climb over, and some stairs. Make sure you go all the way to the top because it is the best part! There are no restrooms here. See more..
  4. 4.5 Long Creek Falls (318 reviews)
    - A really nice short falls hike

    Long Creek Falls image
This is a nice little hike with a great falls experience at the end. You will be on the Appalachian Trail for most of the hike. The hike to the falls is about one mile and is mostly on an upward incline. The drive into the trailhead is 5 miles on a forestry road. It is mostly in good shape but does have some bumpy spots with mud holes. Most vehicles should be able to make it. We saw sedans and mini-vans. See more..
  5. 4.5 Desoto Falls (190 reviews)
    - Great family hike
    Waterfalls
    Desoto Falls image
Beautiful falls. Not the most water flow but we went on Thanksgiving. There were some uphill parts and tree roots you must climb over along the trail but our 19 month old did most of the hike by himself. My 74 year old parents also were able to make it (with a hiking stick). We went to the upper falls on the right only as we had read other reviews saying it was better. We had family members also do the falls to the left (lower falls) and they said there wasn't much to see there nor much water flow. The picture here is of the upper falls. There is an outhouse/privy for a restroom in the parking lot but bring your own paper-it was empty when we went! See more..
  6. 5.0 Minnehaha Falls (188 reviews)
    - Must see!
    Waterfalls
    Minnehaha Falls image
Our GPS took us around Lake Rabun to get there. In the middle of winter, the roads were half mud and half snow. Absolutely breathtaking views around the lake, but the road there was narrow and curvy. Once we arrived, there was parking for only a few vehicles. A small staircase up led us to the falls. However, actual stairs were only 1% of the journey. Short trip (maybe 30 minutes round trip) and the views made this one of my favorite falls out of the 10 we saw this vacation. Highly recommend. (Angel and Panther Falls is on the route if you have a few hours. Beautiful as well. Must more strenuous hike though.) See more..
  7. 4.5 Falls Branch Falls (153 reviews)
    - A nice trail to get out and get some nature on
    Waterfalls
    Falls Branch Falls image
The trail is very easy to do. It’s a trail that young kids can do and the waterfall is small and easy to walk in. It takes about 30 minutes to get to the falls and there are places to stop and sit if you need to. See more..
  8. 4.5 Angel Falls Trail (46 reviews)
    - Waterfalls on Joe Creek
Spent 2-3 hours Hiking Trails • Waterfalls
    Angel Falls Trail image
We took our dog for a hike to Angel Falls while visiting the area. In the winter when the campground is closed, there is trailhead parking on Lake Rabun Road for access. There are several waterfalls along the scenic trail. The first one is right near the trailhead in the campground and is a 20-foot stairstep waterfall. About half way down the trail is Panther Falls, the most scenic on the trail. There is a nice spot at the base to sit and enjoy the view. Middle Falls is just a short ways above Panther Falls and the trail ends at Angel Falls. It is the highest one on Joe Creek, but difficult to see due to dense rhododendron growing along the sides. Visiting in winter doesn't help. Overall, a really nice hike with lots of scenery. See more..
  9. 4.5 Sea Creek Falls (39 reviews)
    - AMAZING FALLS

    Sea Creek Falls image
The falls were beautiful!! The hike back to the falls was short and very easy. The climb to get a better look at the falls was not too difficult. I would only recommend the climb to those who are some what fit and maybe a little risky. The area at the bottom of the falls is a great place to splash around and get cool in the water. See more..
  10. 4.0 Horsetrough Falls (31 reviews)
    - Horsetrough falls
    Waterfalls
    Horsetrough Falls image
It's a little hard to find, if you have a GPS it's much easier to find. N34* 47.53 W83*47.24. It's in the back of a campground, when you get to the foot bridge walk up the right side of the creek. If you walk up the left side you do not get as good a view of the falls. Great place to take a dip if it's hot, there is a little pool at the bottom of the falls. See more..
  11. 4.5 High Shoals Falls (27 reviews)
    - Nice outing
    Thursday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Waterfalls
    High Shoals Falls image
Google initially took us to the wrong place, but thankfully there were brown signs that gave more accurate directions. I only gave a “4” rating due to so much trash. If you are so inclined, take bags and gloves and be a blessing. The falls were actually bigger than I had anticipated. It was only a short walk and worth the trip for anyone living in the area or visiting. See more..
  12. 4.5 Dicks Creek Falls (22 reviews)
    - Great adventure for your city SUV
    Spent < 1 hour Waterfalls
    Dicks Creek Falls image
The falls were not significant, but it was a fun ride to take through the mountains. We drove through the majority, then did a 4 mile hike looking for more waterfalls (which we did not find any more). There is small fall right when you enter and then another one quite a ways in. Neither were significant. However the walking trails were nice for a power walk. See more..
  13. 4.5 Jacks River Falls (21 reviews)
    - Cold water and beautiful scenery
    Waterfalls
    Jacks River Falls image
My husband and I are new to the area. We hiked the Beech Bottoms/Jacks River hike from Dally Gap. We followed the trail which crossed through Jacks River but it was cold (it's January) and deepish (at least 2 ft where we crossed)! We took our socks and shoes off and did this first big pass, but we definitely realized this is an awesome *summer* hike. Right after that we were faced with the summer 2016 forrest fire damage. It was difficult to find the trail through fallen & burnt trees & brush. Regardless we found the Falls and enjoyed our hike ❤️ We couldn't make the next river crossing on the trail because it would've been a swimming event in 29 degree weather. So all in all we loved it and we can't wait to come back in summer!! See more..
  14. 4.5 Bridal Veil Falls (14 reviews)
    - Worth the hike
    Waterfalls
    Bridal Veil Falls image
It is definitely a hard hike and not for everyone. You need to be able to climb, crab crawl, and whatever else it takes to get there. It rained the day before we hiked which added to the difficulty level. However, it is worth it. Have fun and be safe. See more..
  15. 5.0 Blue Hole Falls (12 reviews)
    - 100% worth it
    Spent 1-2 hours Waterfalls
    Blue Hole Falls image
Read reviews of High Shoal Falls, as this is one of the two highlight falls along High Shoal Falls trail. High Schoals is the tall waterfall at the end of the trail with pools to cool your feet, but to me Blue Hole Falls is the winner. Swim the clear, cold spring water. Jump off the top of the waterfall. Bring your lunch and enjoy the sun as it briefly peaks over the trees. There are parts you can stand and other deeper parts of the swimming hole. Bring your water shoes, towel and lunch. You will. It regret it. See more..
  16. 3.0 Dick's Creek Falls (11 reviews)
    - Find a local or a experienced guide
    Spent 2-3 hours Waterfalls
    Dick's Creek Falls image
We are staying in Hiawassee at a friend's property and thought we would check out Dicks Creek Falls. We went twice today and did not succeed either time. Both times we went back Sandy Ford and went across a small creek in my husband's compact car. (This was according to the directions we were given.) The first time we turned around because our GPS showed a road to the left that didn't exist. So, we turned around and went into downtown Clayton, found a local shop owner and he gave us directions, or so we thought. We went back the second time and saw a car parked before the creek, but went across the creek like we were told to do so. We went went further up Sandy Ford this time and found a large clearing on the left side of the road. My husband got out and checked out the area, he found blue markers on trees and what looked like a trail. We got out of the car and followed the markers, but then they disappeared. Apparently, we were up further and just saw the creek that runs below the water fall. See more..
  17. 5.0 Mud Creek Falls (10 reviews)
    - Nice Publicly Accessible Waterfall
    Thursday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent < 1 hour Hiking Trails • Waterfalls
    Mud Creek Falls image
Mud Creek Falls is a nice 75-foot waterfall below the lake at the Sky Valley Golf Course. There is a small parking area at the end of Tahoe Lane so no hike required. We wanted a hike, so parked at the Sky Valley Overlook on GA-246 and hiked the 1-mile Mud Creek Trail to the falls. It's a real nice hike and recommended for those looking for a longer visit to the waterfall. See more..
  18. 4.0 Cupid Fall Park (8 reviews)
    - Easy access falls for those with limited mobility.

    Cupid Fall Park image
Cupid Falls in Young Harris, Georgia, is very nice. It has easy access for those of us over age 60 who deal with limited mobility. The falls are beautiful and the sound of the rushing water is very relaxing. There is no fee to park nearby and it is not crowded. This is a perfect place to take lots of pictures and enjoy nature at its finest. See more..
  19. 5.0 Keown Falls (7 reviews)
    - Sunday Funday Family Hike
    Spent 1-2 hours Waterfalls
    Keown Falls image
Fun little hike. I would say it's not good for those with knee problems, there are a lot of rocks on the trail, and it does get a little tricky in spots. The natural stairs, moss covered rocks and trees, plus the gorgeous view are a bonus to visiting the water fall that doesn't have a strong water flow, but well worth the hike too. See more..
  20. 4.0 Bridal Veil Falls (6 reviews)
    - Beautiful, peaceful

    Bridal Veil Falls image
Part of the Tallulah Gorge state park, Bridal Veil Falls are stunningly beautiful. Must hike in to get a good view. Absolutely amazing rock formations. Heavily wooded in areas. The sounds of the water rushing down the deep gorge is like music. Terrific day trip. See more..

Easy to reach waterfall that is not marked. Pleasant uphill hike to a cascade through a former quarry site. Despite the deadfall it is still a pretty waterfall. See more..

Siting by the falls and hearing the water rushing by was such a calming experience. The water was not as cold as I expected, but there was plenty of it. We heard there was 21" of rain and it certainly looked to be flowing fast. See more..
  23. 4.0 Williams Mill Greenspace (1 review)
    - Loved The Shoals!

    Williams Mill Greenspace image
I visited this 48 acre nature preserve on Wednesday afternoon. Walked the two miles of trails that wind through the trees, streams, ponds, & rolling hills. Trails are a mix of natural terrain, grass & asphalt so there is something for all skill levels. There is large green space (certified as a Wildlife Sanctuary) where the kids can run around, play & entertain themselves. The centerpiece of the park is Mitchell creek. There is a concrete path that leads from the parking lot directly to the spot on the creek where it drops in elevation & cascades down over granite shoals. An observation deck with benches provides the perfect picture taking opportunity or to just sit, rest, relax and soak in the natural beauty that surrounds you. The park is safe & clean. Good place to go to get out of the house, get some exercise, some fresh air and still maintain social distancing. Trails are dog friendly but must be on a leash. Open daily sunrise to sunset. Restrooms on site. Ample parking. See more..

Enjoyed these two easy hikes from the same starting point to the upper and lower falls. Both beautiful. Around 2 miles in all. You’ll need $5 cash for parking. Restroom in parking lot. See more..
