Was a great stay. Beautiful golf course and the outdoor waterpark so cute! Only bad thing was the bartender Jessica knew very little on how to make drinks, kept looking at my husband and flirting. He is handsome but after 20 years of marriage we never had a he/she person hit on him, and right in front of me. We understand it’s 2022 and we’re flattered, but learn some manners.See more..

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They explained the optional feeding process and and made the experience fun. The reptiles were interesting and could be viewed up close (behind glass)--so this was very safe. We also could have our picture taken with a small alligator. It display was rather small, but just the right size to keep the attention of small children.See more..

The venue is beautiful, but the $36 beers leave a bad taste in your mouth. I know all venues take the chance to rob you blind once they have you confined, but Alpine Valley takes it to a whole new level. I will go back for sure, but will never buy another beer.See more..

3.5North Star Mohican Casino(109 reviews) - Smoking ruined it Wednesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Casinos
We had a corner/end room. Very quiet, clean. Also it had a comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. However, several times in the night, I woke to smelling smoke. I complained at the desk the next morning. I was told it was probably from the room across the hall from us. There is no smoking allowed in the casino or hotel. I was offered an apology but "nothing they can do about it." If they discover someone is smoking in their hotel room, the guest is charged $250 extra to clean the room. But nothing is offered to the person across the hall who had to smell it all night. Another issue we had was that there is no restaurant open in the evening--just a deli. It is a 20 minute drive to the closest restaurant. We like to gamble at this casino but I won't stay at the hotel again.See more..

We use the techniques of award-winning Pit Master Matt Whiteford to create specialties like Smoked BBQ Quesadillas and the BBQ Beef Brisket Sandwich. But our menu doesn’t end there, try the Bloody Mary Burger or the Parmesan Panko Mac n’ Cheese. The Friday Fish Fry is a fun and delicious Wisconsin tradition, especially when there's live entertainment. We also offer a full children's menu and take-out. And did we mention drinks? Nice little museum. Not many artifacts that actually belonged to Laura's immediate family, but some from distant relatives and other people from the area. Cute gift shop, but they were out of the Laura passports when I was there starting my journey of several of her museums in the region. Loved visiting Wayside cottage, the replica log home on land of the original homestead.See more..
3.5The Bavarian Village(82 reviews) - Close to being there Points of Interest & Landmarks
My husband and I came here on Thursday, June 12, as part of our one day in the Dells. I had never been nor did I even know what a "Glockenspiel" even was! Every hour on the hour, the Glockenspiel chimes and within moments, one gets to see and hear the story of the legendary Pied Piper. This attraction is free and very relaxing amongst the hustle and bustle of the area. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a moment of calmness and a closeness to Germany!See more..

3.5Legendary Waters Casino(64 reviews) - Nice small casino in fabulous location Wednesday: 12:00 AM - 12:00 PM Casinos
Legendary Waters just opened in September. We visited in Oct and rooms were only $79 a night plus there were some gambling and drink incentives provided. The casino is small but has a lot of variety. The hotel is beautiful with spacious rooms and gorgeous views of Lake Superior. It is close to the charming town of Bayfield, Wi with free shuttle trips into town (although the town is pretty closed up after summer season). The restaurant was not terrific. Some in our party had the walleye which was delicious; I had steak which wasn't the best. Breakfast buffet was just ok; good omelets and everything else was pretty average.See more..

Basic 3 star hotel. A little worn out but clean. Pool and exercise area are nice and big. The rooms themselves are small especially the bathroom. If you're there to gamble and just need a place to flop, it should be good enough. Nowhere near as good as other local casinos we stayed at.See more..

3.5Alpine Valley Resort(59 reviews) - Great local ski area with fair prices Golf Courses • Ski & Snowboard Areas
Good variety of runs. Probably best for mid-level skiers. Fairly cheap weekend rates for lift tickets and rentals. Easy parking, $6 for a good beer. 90ish minutes from Chicago. Staff was helpful, crowds were light and friendly. They have ski-in rooms that are right on the hill. It is much more scenic than local tiny spots like Wilmot. We had a lucky day of fresh snow and no ice. We got what we paid for and I'll go back for certain.See more..

3.0Special Memories Zoo(58 reviews) - Small zoo, questionable circumstances Zoos

3.5Sunburst Ski Area(57 reviews) - Tubing during Christmas Break Wednesday: 4:00 PM - 9:30 PM Ski & Snowboard Areas
We went tubing the Monday after Christmas with another family. The kids were aged 9-15. Everyone had a great time. It was not busy when we went just before lunch. There was no snow in southern Wisconsin which may have kept customers away. The ski and tubing runs had snow. The first set of tubing runs was open and they were actively making snow for the other runs. The runs were average speed this time and they allowed up to 5 riders to run at the same time. Employees at the end of the runs were doing a decent job watching out for collisions.See more..
Love going here when I'm in the Northwoods, but it is very hard as it is not smoke free and it is real hard to breathe with everyone lighting up inside. Don't go as often any more.See more..
3.5Shotgun Eddy(50 reviews) - Hang on to your hat! Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 9:00 PM Water Sports
This is a great ride with huge drop offs and not for the faint of heart. You may need to portage in places but there are a couple of spots that are just rough. You need to be a strong swimmer and have a clear mind to take this ride, especially when the water is high. I've taken this trip three times and every time there is someone in trouble somewhere along the way. This is a great trip but you need to be ready for it! If you'd like to raft but want a smoother ride go on up a few miles and take Buettner's Wild Wolf raft trips. That is more of a "float" rather than a rapids situation.See more..
This is a beautiful state park! It's pretty small, so I'd recommend visiting when you're in the area rather than going out of your way. However, the scenery is lovely, particularly the rock formations. You can get a quick hike in and this would also be a nice place for a picnic. My only complaint is that the trail was not as well-maintained as it could be -- it was a little overgrown in places and there was a downed tree across one part that looked to have been there a while.See more..
3.5Ice Castles(45 reviews) - Fun for the family Spent 1-2 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks
This was my first time visiting this temporary winter attraction. The work done on the building of the structures was great and the lighting was very nice. For the admission price, it didn't seem as though the entire attraction was very large, but I don't have previous years for comparison. I went just at sunset and the parking are still had plenty of open spots to park (this may have been due to covid-related attendance limits). There are some covered areas that had very soft snow, so individuals with walking difficulties may need extra care. There were two separate slide areas for kids (the larger, dual slide allows adults). There was also a photo opportunity as you enter, if you don't have your own camera or are timid in asking someone else to take a photo of you.See more..

3.5Rock in the House(40 reviews) - Cannot get inside but the rock is huge Wednesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Points of Interest & Landmarks
I read other reviews that said the owner has hand written notes around the home for visitors to read and explore. Sadly, due to Covid 19 the door was locked in front, boarded closed in back. The site is in town, on the river road. Which makes it easy to find. I recommend parking in the street, as the road is busy and it would be unpleasant to try backing out of the small driveway. Since you may only walk around the property at this time, it is a very quick visit. The rock is truly something to see in person. It is worth a quick stop if you have the time.See more..
3.07 Mile Fair(39 reviews) - Great advertisement but it was a disappointment Wednesday: Speciality & Gift Shops
There are two buildings which house merchants. There are too many of the similar stores. I was hoping to see more diverse merchandises but nothing special. The outside market is mostly yard sale. One man's garbage is another's treasure...true.See more..

Took a trip into Wisconsin to see the changing fall leaves. Stayed , ate and gambled at the Mole Lake Casino. Took advantage of their get-a-way package (as described on their web sight) and it worked out very well. The room was very nice, pool and hot tub are better than most, the food was average but very reasonable. The casino would be considered small, and most of the machines were older- but with the older prices, 20 , 30 cents etc. They have daily bingo and a couple of bars. We were able to play the slots for quite awhile on the free play from the get-a way package deal. In fact we did pretty darn good. Will do it again for sure. Note: November 1st they will be going smoke free.See more..
3.5River's Edge Apple River Campground(35 reviews) - Great experience, basic cabin Wednesday: 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM River Rafting & Tubing • Gear Rentals
A group of us stayed in two of the 2 bedroom cabins. When we arrived, the woman who checked us in was kind and helpful. The cabins were clean and air conditioned. Each of the rooms had a bonfire pit and a picnic table outside. The inside of the cabin also had a table that was capable of seating four. The camp site has one outdoor faucet outside to use for quick washing of hands or dishes. One of the cabins had a grill, but the other one did not. We brought a small grill just in case we did not- that was helpful. The cabins do not have restrooms in them, so we had to climb a hill to get to the restrooms/ showers. It was a close walk, but it was not convenient if you had to go in the middle of the night. Overall, we had a ton of fun + a great experience. There is so many options for things to do on the property and we had a great time. The staff was helpful if we needed it. I would definitely stay here again for another fun filled weekend.See more..

The fields are AstroTurf, making for fast moving ball in the rain and snow. It was also extremely windy. Very little shelter options between games. 3.5Seven Hawks Vineyard(27 reviews) - Mixed bag Wednesday: 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM Wineries & Vineyards
If you want your wines (both red and white) to be full bodied, complex with all kinds of layers, this is not the winery for you. However, if you are willing to take a chance on a fairly young winery that is exploring, this is worth visiting. We tasted the wines proffered. The reds, notwithstanding their description, are not what would normally be considered as full bodied especially when compared to the reds from CA and WA. But they were decent and would easily hold their own against pasta and/or burgers. One red, I can't recall which, would have made a nice pairing with BBQ. We wound up purchasing the ice wine and the Prairie Star. As noted in the description, it does indeed pair very well with spicy Asian (in our case Thai) food. It's a small winery, but pleasant to visit. We would go again.See more..
Our league has been at this facility for over 25 years, but this will be our last. Very few workers to staff the lanes, restaurant or bar. Prices are extremely high for beer, soda , drinks, and open bowling. New manager rarely paid attention to our needs and often used the excuse "I'm too busy," but was seen doing other trivial matters. Our last straw came when he tried to refuse us something that was signed in a contract we had. Many local lanes are better, without dealing with an out-of-state corporate entity like Bowlero.See more..

First time kayaking here. We arrived early and enjoyed sitting by the river under a nice shaded tree with tables and chairs. There were down trees to navigate around, but the challenge was doable and fun!See more..
