4 Star Places To Visit in Vermont, United States (50)
4.0Ben & Jerry's(3.561 reviews) - Enjoying Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream Thursday: 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Factory Tours
Good trip. We arrived at approximately 7:30 pm and made our way into the line. There were roughly 20-30 people in front of us when we arrived. The line moved smoothly and quickly and there was an employee at the front of the line who was willing to answer any questions that we had about the different flavors. Once we placed our order, we waited for roughly 15 minutes to receive our ice cream. There were multiple tables and chairs outside that one could sit on while waiting for their ice cream. There was also a Ben and Jerry’s van that provided for a great photo opportunity. The only downside is that the ice cream was VERY pricey (almost 14 dollars for 2 separate orders of a single scoop of ice cream). Definitely worth checking out but will not be coming back again due to the price. Tip: It took about 30 minutes from the time we got in line, to when we got our ice cream.See more..

This home is magical! I can't believe we did not make the day trip sooner! Hildene was only an hour's drive for us from the Albany area, but honestly I would have driven hours to see this beauty! The area is charming, and our entire experience was worth every penny of the very reasonable admission fee for a self guided tour. The entire day, from the lovely gift shop to the fantastic docents in the house, was wonderful! My favorite thing about the house was the 1908 pipe organ that played every 15 minutes! It's something you really have to experience! It was also cool to see Lincoln's top hat & mirror from the White House dressing room. My only regret was that we missed the Pullman car, which I hear is a must see (but we will be back)! I wish we had allowed more time. We ended up spending a lot of time in the gardens because they were so spectacular. The views were breathtaking! Don't miss out on seeing Hildene. One of my new favorite places!See more..

If you're visiting Vermont, don't miss Quechee Gorge, also known as the state's "Grand Canyon." The 165-foot gorge cuts through the Ottauquechee River and is the crown jewel of Quechee State Park. The park offers easy hiking trails on both sides of the gorge, and camping and kayaking are popular activities here too, making it an ideal destination for outdoor lovers. The best time to visit is during the fall when the foliage colors are at their peak. Be sure to visit the gift shop and the nearby Vermont Toy Museum, both of which are within walking distance from the park's entrance. – TripadvisorSee more..
4.5Cold Hollow Cider Mill(1.023 reviews) - Great tourist stop! Thursday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM Factory Tours
If you are visiting this area during the fall foliage, I would assume this would be a must stop! My only negative is apparently everyone else knows that too! It was very busy. Multiple tour buses get off here, so I recommend to get here early so you can beat the crowds! The apple cider donuts are the main attraction, but they have a lot of things to shop for souvenirs as well. You can make this a long stop if you want, or can just do a quick one and grab some donuts and cider!See more..

4.5Vermont Teddy Bear Company(605 reviews) - Adorable inside and out Thursday: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Private Tours • Factory Tours • Bus Tours
Love the cute photo props outside and brightly painted facade. We went Sunday morning and it was empty. The lack of variety was a little disappointing, but... not sure disappointing as the lack of quality. My expectations were set up too high by the outside appearance. There were couple of t-shirt styles and couple of sweat shirt styles, neither with an embroidery (just print). When trying to choose a bear, we stuck to the traditional, small $39.99 one. Unfortunately, 6 hours later, one of the eyes fell out. It appeared that the glue was never placed to hold it. It's a pretty serious issue to try an explain to a 10 y.o. who spend an hour picking a bear with the "right face" and "the best eye color". Not sure how this will end, but still waiting to hear from the customer service about the "Bear Hospital " arrangement. It could've been a great experience...See more..

Great trip! We arrived at approximately 1 pm and made our way to the ticket booth to buy our tickets. We then hopped back in the car and made the 4.5 mile trip up the mountain. There were several steep inclines up the mountain, but the ride up was very enjoyable and safe. There was plenty of room on the road for cars going in both directions, with several viewing areas along the way to take pictures. My only complaint was that there was not enough parking on the top of the mountain. We were lucky and found a spot near the entrance, but I saw several cars turn back. Once at the top, we took a short hike up the mountain and were surrounded by gorgeous views in all directions. We hiked a little bit further and encountered even more beautiful scenery around us. The trail was clearly marked and safe to walk on. Tip: I recommend spending 2-3 hours here if you truly want to see everything.See more..
4.5Simon Pearce Mill(282 reviews) - Go on a Monday or Tuesday and see the glass blowing Thursday: 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Art Galleries
We went on a Tuesday so we were able to spend time and watch the artists blowing glass. It was really amazing. The building itself is just as beautiful as the glasswork inside. We took many photos by the waterfall and the covered bridge. I wish we could have afforded some of the glass art but it was out of our league.See more..
This is a whole town that has been left in the 1900's. There is his birthplace, childhood home, and old barn. It was excellent to see - and I really enjoyed it. Just be sure to realize this is more of an old time tour of his childhood and life at the time than it is focused on his presidency. There is a small museum but it didn't cover his presidential campaign or what he really did during his presidency. Definitely do the guided tour (included in the $10 price). We spent almost 3 hours.See more..

4.0Jay Peak Resort(253 reviews) - Top Ski/Snowboard Resort in the North East! Ski & Snowboard Areas
Jay Peak should be on everyone's list of top mountain resorts in the North East. The mountain is large and features a great variety of terrain - there is more expert terrain than beginner terrain, but everyone will be able to find a run that fits their style and ability level. The tree skiing is some of the best in the North East without question. The lift system could use some updates but is well laid out. The resort itself offers a variety of activities including an indoor waterpark, rock climbing, an ice rink, golf and more. There is a good variety of lodging and dining at the resort as well. The mountain is rather remote and far from many of the major metropolitan areas which helps limit the crowds but also makes travel a bit difficult.See more..
