very nice beach, only about 5-10 min drive from the waterfront area. in response to SpyderWitch, the park entrance is the same as the campground, the exit on the left side is clearly marked but the entrance on the right side is not as obvious. After the stop sign, just go straight to the gate. When we went it was $10 parking per car and just drive down straight and to the right. Fairly calm as expected, although there were small waves. Small restaurant, bathrooms, kayak and standup board rentals all available. The sunsets were amazing over Lake Champlain. See more..

This is such an wonderful beach for us because it is shallow for quiet a ways out. The water warms up quicker here. The beach is huge so there is plenty of room to have to yourself. Vermonts have been able to enjoy this beach with little hastle at this time before school is out, .since most tourists have not started the season. This is a great place for floats. We saw some children with a big dragon float. The views of Lake Champlain are super from this state park. See more..

This beach may cater to locals, but I was warmly welcomed by families sitting in chairs at the water's edge. Swimming in the cold, clear, refreshing water was the highlight of our trip to Vermont. The views are spectacular and although the beach is rocky, the water is amazing. Adding to the charm is the forest of birdhouses across the road. Will happily return. See more..
  4. 4.0 Bayside Park (12 reviews)
    - Love Bayside

    Bayside Park image
Bayside Park is really 2 parks in one. There's a great playground with picnic area and pavilion across the road from Mallets Bay. And there's a public beach and swimming area on the water side. The hill down to the water is pretty steep in spots but the swimming is decent, within the roped off area. Access to the Colchester Bike Path is easy from Bayside Park. There's usually sufficient parking as well. Bayside is a pleasant place we like to visit, mostly for the playground to picnic. See more..

    - Beautifully managed public space

Kudos to park manager James and his outgoing helpful assistant. We found this a delightful place to camp and appreciate very much clean bathhouses and grounds. Sites are well separated with terrific greenery surrounding each site. We enjoyed walking the grounds with our two dogs and enjoyed the rocky beach with beautiful view of Lake Champlain. See more..
  6. 4.5 Shelburne Bay Park (10 reviews)

That’s right. All 3 of these pastimes may be experienced here. Photography and birding occurs here, too. A public boat launch is located within the parking lot. Overflow parking is located here as well. Specific trails exist for cycling and hiking. The area is scenic. Look for the ospreys in July. See more..
