Yes, It's a bit pricey. $30 per person for 1 round trip. But you get your own gondola for the ten minute ride and on a clear day the view is pretty sweet. I know the giant hogweed is a dangerous plant, but it sure makes a nice wildflower meadow for photos. The gondola takes you to the Peak Lodge which is by far the best top of the mountain place to eat or drink that we've ever seen, and we've seen a bunch. Lovely views and easy hiking trails. Take the ride! See more..

I loved that it was a walkable experience, and there was even a map that helped me hunt for them. I found three that had not been added to the map as they'd been done this year. Besides the murals, there are great sculptures and painted benches throughout the downtown area worth seeing. See more..
  3. 4.5 Mad River Path (3 reviews)
    - Walks Surrounded by Quintessential Vermont Countryside
    Scenic Walking Areas
6 or 7 different walking/hiking paths comprise the Mad River Path. The level of difficult and the length of the paths differ greatly. There is a lot of variety from walking along the Mad River to hiking in the forests to walking through meadows. I would suggest that before embarking on any of the sections that it would be a good idea to download the maps from the Mad Path River web site. I was not able to obtain any maps from either the visitor center on Rte. 100 or the Warren General Store. See more..
  4. 5.0 Raven Ridge Natural Area (2 reviews)
    - Good Hiking

My family and I did this hike, 2 adults and one 12 year old. It is a moderate hike about 2.5 miles total if you do the loop which I recommend. The trailhead is reached via a dirt road and the parking lot is small. However, parking on the road is easy. The trail starts with a long boardwalk through wetlands and then rises and there is a considerable climb until you reach the overlooks after 1.5 miles. Good views are your reward (see pictures). This is a fun hike only about 10 minutes from the highway and I would recommend it. Also, be aware they do not allow dogs on the trail. See more..
