    Battery Park image
Originally built as a military camp during the War of 1812, Battery Park sits high above the Burlington shoreline with majestic views of the Adirondacks across Lake Champlain. The 14 acre park was deeded to the city in 1870 and also overlooks Waterfront park below. There are historic markers, monuments, a playground and a bandshell for summer concerts. They also have an ice skating rink in the winter months. This park reminds me of the many I have been to in the northeast, on a sunny summer day with the shaded greenery and a sense/respect of American history and greatness. That panoramic view is a sight to behold. They did not have any permanent restrooms, but we did find 2 portable ones in the back of the northwest section. See more..
  2. 4.5 Giorgetti Park (19 reviews)
    - Great hiking trails
Spent 1-2 hours Parks • Arenas & Stadiums • Playgrounds

Park in front of the arena and head over to the trails at Pine Hill Park at the end of the parking lot. Once you're in the trail system there are no restrooms or water, so plan accordingly. We enjoyed three hours of hiking and went to the pond. You could spend an entire day here. There are enormous rocks, tiny orange lizards, and some nice views in the paths of the power lines. It's a nice place with intermediate trails. See more..

  4. 4.0 Bayside Park (12 reviews)
    - Love Bayside
Spent 2-3 hours Bodies of Water • Beaches • Playgrounds
    Bayside Park image
Bayside Park is really 2 parks in one. There's a great playground with picnic area and pavilion across the road from Mallets Bay. And there's a public beach and swimming area on the water side. The hill down to the water is pretty steep in spots but the swimming is decent, within the roped off area. Access to the Colchester Bike Path is easy from Bayside Park. There's usually sufficient parking as well. Bayside is a pleasant place we like to visit, mostly for the playground to picnic. See more..
