  4. 5.0 The Kitchen at The Store (22 reviews)
    - Take the cooking classes they're well done.
    Lessons & Workshops
The Kitchen at The Store image
Fair warning, I have worked in commercial kitchens and cook very well and have taught cooking classes. Having cleared the air, I heartily suggest taking advantage of one of The Store cooking classes. Chef Ariana leads well and encourages beginners and skilled participants to try all different cooking skills. She invites questions and answers them well and thoughtfully. Be sure to come hungry for you will be eating your efforts. Big thanks to Chef Ariana 's assistant who kept the kitchen clean, assisted chef as needed and helped everyone if you asked. Today's class was Mexican Flare and in two hours we made: Homemade Pico de Gallo, Guacamole, Baked Chips, Colorado Pork, Butternut Squash Empanadas, Mexican Rice with Corn and Black Beans, and Mexican Cinnamon Flan. 6. 5.0 Sugarbush Soaring (10 reviews)
    - Soaring over the Mad River Valley like an eagle
Lessons & Workshops • Air Tours
    Sugarbush Soaring image
The very friendly and highly professional staff made my first glider experience ever a very memorable way to end a vacation in the Mad River Valley of Vermont. Soaring along the ridges on the thermal drafts was a thrilling experience, capped by a small adrenalin rush as we (intentionally) bumped onto the grass beside the runway at the end of the journey. Bring a camera: the views were gorgeous, and the pilot's commentary helped orient me to what I was seeing. The staff shows a total commitment to safety and to customer service. Recommended especially for families with teens, but really for anyone. Very enjoyable. See more..

  8. 3.5 Stratton Golf School (6 reviews)
    - Good way to straighten out your game
    Lessons & Workshops
Four of us went up to take 3 days of the Golf School. That may have been a little over zealous. By the 3rd day I was sore and tired. We had an awesome instructor who helped all four of us with all our different problem areas. He really made our experience a very positive one. However, the facilities weren't very good. A very damaged green and large rocks in the sand trap. See more..

I was on vacation in the area and found online that this shop had locally grown, dyed and spun wool. The stop was well worth it. The employee working was very helpful and interesting. She told us about the artists who had work for sale in the shop. In addition to yarn, there were kits, hand made buttons and finished products for sale. I wasn't able to stay for a class since we were on a short vacation but if I lived nearby I would definitely participate. See more..
