We were in town just for the evening, as we were passing through but wanted to stop halfway through. John was very friendly and welcoming and gave us a great list of things to do that fit into the 5 or so hours we had. It was all great! We enjoyed a covered bridge, the monument, we paid our respects to Robert Frost and perused a few shops on Main St. we ended a great little sightseeing tour with dinner at Publyk House and we were not disappointed. Great visit to Bennington!!!See more..

We happened to see the sign from northbound 89 and had to stop. The rest stop/visitor center itself is clean, modern and functional, but the highlight is the Vietnam memorial which pays tribute to the Vermont soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice.See more..

This convenience store/ travel center is the best experience ever. Yes, you read that right, I’m recommending a visit to a convenience store. 4.0Capitol Region Visitors Center(1 review) - Great Little Visitors Center Thursday: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Visitor Centers Located in a neat little red building only a block from the Capitol dome, for its size the center far exceeded the expectations. There were maps. brochures, and magazines on just about anything you could think of including sugarhouses and cheesemakers. The young lady staffing the center was friendly and full of great information. They had nice bathrooms and she said we could leave the car in the lot and walk to the statehouse if we wanted. I would make this my 1st stop if you are visiting Montpelier and the surrounding areas of Vermont.See more..
