  3. 4.5 Newport Bike Path (42 reviews)
    - Gateway to Quebec's Eastern Townships

Ride it for about 6 miles up to the border, where it ends, and make a right for about two miles. Make a left on the next street that you can, and hand your passport to the Canadian border guards. About a mile north of the border, make a right onto the continuation of the same abandoned raliway, which is now called the Sentier Nature Tomofobia. After about 12 miles, It ends at Ayer's Cliff, Quebec. Nearly all of this is on traffic-free gravel bike paths, which are relatively flat. Skinny-tire road bikes are not the best choice. I put knobbies on mine, and it worked well. From Ayer's Cliff, strong cyclists can traverse challenging hills to connect to other quaint towns (e.g., Magog & North Hatley), and the Route Verte. That’s right. All 3 of these pastimes may be experienced here. Photography and birding occurs here, too. A public boat launch is located within the parking lot. Overflow parking is located here as well. Specific trails exist for cycling and hiking. The area is scenic. Look for the ospreys in July. See more..

My teenage son asked us to mt bike on our vacation so we stopped in Ludlow. He really enjoyed the bike park. It has two main trails with many small paths splitting off. It has some small jumps with two larger jumps, a few bridges. During the week, there was no one there - on waiting! He spent 1.5 days going up on the lift and coming down fast-fun! See more..
