4.5Harriman Reservoir(82 reviews) - Go to Wilmington for the serene atmosphere at the lake, then to top it all dine at folly, you will not regret it! Bodies of Water
It is a gorgeous area. We swam, had a picnic and watched eagles soaring above! After that we had a fabulous dinner at Folly in Wilmington. It is a superb little restaurant. The ambiance was wonderful as were the hostess and chef. It felt as if they were our personal chefs! The food was Devine. I have never tasted a steak as delicious as theirs.See more..

Green River Reservoir is a great place for day use or overnight camping at their paddle-out camp sites. The reservoir is great for paddle boating, swimming and fishing. There are two boat launch sites, one with wheel chair access. You can buy bundles of wood at the camp office. It was so quiet, only the sound of loons at night.See more..
4.0Bayside Park(12 reviews) - Love Bayside Spent 2-3 hours Bodies of Water • Beaches • Playgrounds
Bayside Park is really 2 parks in one. There's a great playground with picnic area and pavilion across the road from Mallets Bay. And there's a public beach and swimming area on the water side. The hill down to the water is pretty steep in spots but the swimming is decent, within the roped off area. Access to the Colchester Bike Path is easy from Bayside Park. There's usually sufficient parking as well. Bayside is a pleasant place we like to visit, mostly for the playground to picnic.See more..

Shelburne Pond offers easy access and ample parking. The pond is good for kayaking and canoeing, but offers plenty of opportunity to see a variety of waterfowl and shorebirds within feet of your parking spot. Great blue herons, American bitterns, cormorants, terns, bald eagles and Canadian geese are frequent sights. An adjacent wooded area offers a short and easy hike, with wildflowers in the spring.See more..
4.0North Hartland Lake(5 reviews) - Turtles! Bald eagle! Kayaking :) Spent 2-3 hours Bodies of Water
We’ve been coming here for years while visiting the area, but this time we kayaked 3 miles up river to the edge of Quechee State Park. The water was high and running fast, so it was a little tiring at the end, but we did it! Turned around and had a leisurely RETURN Downstream. Saw a bald eagle, and lots of turtles that were fun to catch & release. There was a significant flood this year so the dam overflow had a LOT of debris that still needed to be cleaned up. And the grassy area by the beach had been decimated, so it was being reseeded. Lovely spot, as always.See more..

4.5Wrightsville Reservoir(2 reviews) - Peaceful Paddling Bodies of Water We rented some really nice kayaks at Wrightsville Resevoir Recreation. Then paddled upstream until it became too shallow to go further. Nice not having to share the waters with power boats and other speed interests. We saw lots of great birds. The recreation area had shaded picnic area as well as a nice swim beach. The young fella that was taking care of the booth was professional and helpful. Bathroom facilities a bit primitive. Reasonable prices.See more..
4.0Sadawga Pond(1 review) - Beautiful, clean lake Bodies of Water
We went kayaking here one afternoon and had a great time. The boat launch is easy to access, there's a lot of parking, and there's a nice grassy area right by the launch. The entire area is extremely clean and during our 3 hours I didn't see a single piece of garbage in the water, around the banks, or at the launch area. There's a floating island that makes the lake seem much smaller than it is and there are different little coves to explore. We didn't fish but I've been told it's a great spot for that too. The boats on the lake are smaller fishing boats, nothing too large. We'll absolutely be back to fish, swim, and kayak more!See more..

5.0Waterfall(1 review) - Peacefull, relaxing, and in touch with nature. Bodies of Water • Forests • Waterfalls
On our way to Underhill State Park below Mount Mansfield we stumbled across a series of small waterfalls along the dirt road. We were looking for seclusion, not wanting to be next to anyone during COVID-19. We brought out or camp chairs, our grill and our fold up table and sat relaxing, listening to the water flow by. My husband brought his book, I brought my laptop and we spent a couple hours outside the house in nature. There is a tiny pull off on the left as you ascend the mountain.See more..
4.0Lake Raponda(1 review) - Beautiful lake for kayaking Bodies of Water
Went kayaking here on a beautiful mid May Sunday. Since it was early season there were very few people on the lake or at the lakefront houses so other than the slight wind it was quiet, private, and easy. This is a smaller lake without water skiing but there could be a few fishing boats to aware of. It's deep enough where there's little to know worry of hitting anything and the launch is wicked easy to access and use. It was a first time for us but we'll absolutely go back to kayak more.See more..
