  16. 5.0 Nebraska Knoll Sugar Farm (37 reviews)
    - Delicious syrup!
Spent < 1 hour Speciality & Gift Shops • Farms
    Nebraska Knoll Sugar Farm image
Amazingly delicious syrup! We dropped by on a Monday afternoon; it is literally a house in the middle of the woods. It wasn't too hard to find with GPS; there were also signs pointing to the sugar house. Follow the GPS/signs, and you'll come to this house with maybe 1 car parked in front of it. There was no one inside the house, but there were clear instructions to taste, purchase and pay for syrup. It's the honor system all the way here. Syrup comes in 3 flavors and all were excellent. Prices were fair, and definitely less than what you'd find in retail stores. Only one other car of people came in while we were there, and as we were leaving, another car was just turning in to the lot. The path to/from the house is just about wide enough for one car, but we didn't encounter any other vehicle going in or out, so it wasn't an issue. Definitely drop by for a visit! The best souvenir I took home from in Stowe - ok, souvenirs (plural) as I bought multiple jugs...! See more..

    Wellsmere Farm image
Stopped by with my 4 year old and was just so charmed by everything - but mostly the friendly and loving service and kindness extended towards my daughter. The proprietors and staff were so delightful - and the smells rolling out of that kitchen are like a trip back in time (if you also had a grandma who baked Whoopie pies). We met baby goats, rabbits, chickens, pigs, a tiny donkey, and of course Bandit the border collie (who appears to have a management position). Left with fresh corn, whoopie pies, a dozen eggs my proud kiddo got to pluck from the henhouse herself, and a pie order. I can tell we will be back here a lot this week - the pies look incredible. Ps- an old review commented on apparently poor conditions the animals live in. That gave me pause but we saw nothing at all of concern- just farm animals living a tranquil and normal farm life! When we tour the back roads of Northeast Vermont, 4 Corners Farm is our "must stop" destination as we visit often in season every year for their superior quality of produce, fruit, dairy and meat. The 4 Corners Farm Market overlooks pastures with scenic views of distant mountain ranges depicting Mount Moosilauke, and Sugarloaf, Black and Tucker Mountain across the Connecticut River Valley in New Hampshire. We enjoy viewing dairy cows and donkeys grazing on the gently sloped pastures. In the summer season, the floral gardens are beautifully arranged and stunning, as well as in the Fall, the old fashioned wagon is filled with bright orange pumpkins under a magnificent colorful maple tree. We always make our special journey to this farm during the annual Fall Harvest. Everyone is always very friendly taking the time with us to describe the different varieties of seasonal fruit, vegetables, specialty potatoes and winter squash. Without a doubt it is a wonderfully healthy experience shared with the great people who love farming. 4 Corners Farm is very proud of their motto: "All We Sell is Our Own" and we appreciate the fact that we can trust exceptional quality from a single source of food directly from the farmer.
