I gave them a call this morning to inquire about their packages. Despite them being closed for the season, Laurie was super friendly and answered all of my questions about the surrounding and potential options of places to go on the water or camp. I really appreciated the hospitality and the friendliness well-knowing that there would be no benefit to her or the business See more..

My boyfriend and I accidently came across this place and we are so glad we did! We stopped to talk with the owner, who is a terrific guy by the way, and ended up feeling like we had known him all of our lives. We rented a couple of tubes and spent the rest of the afternoon floating down the river. We hit a couple of rapids, but that only added to the fun! The views are spectacular, the river is beautiful and the ride is one of the best ways to spend the day. I stopped at one point to meditate, and breath in the sweet Vermont air. Luckily at that point there were very few people floating by. I can honestly say that I felt more connected to this beautiful world than ever before. I would highly recommend this as a must do whenever you are in the area. Tweed River Tubing offers us the opportunity to experience Heaven on Earth! See more..

It took many hours - an enjoyable relaxing day. We too about five and a half hours to get back - maybe would have been quicker if we'd paddled more. See more..

We found this company on Facebook after another tubing company failed to respond to several of our inquiries. The Tubing Taxi is run out of a small campground in the tiny town of South Royalton. Boy, are we glad we didn't go with the other company! The folks at the Tubing Taxi responded right away, and we made reservations for the next day. We got there early (11 AM, I think) and our group was the only ones there at that time slot. The owner was very friendly, and she explained that they've been running the taxi for many, many years. We piled into the little bus for the short ~5 minute ride to the drop-off point. We asked for recommendations for lunch, and the owner suggested we try Worthy Burger, which we passed on the way. She specifically suggested we try the truffle fries. Once there, the owner/driver inflated our tubes, along with a little tube to carry our cooler (with some adult beverages), and we were off. It was our first time tubing, and it was a great way to spend ~2 hours on a hot day. The water is very clear and shallow enough to stand in most places. You will have to walk on occasion in the really shallow places, but most of the time we could just float along at our leisure. The river was calm and peaceful, with a little "rapid" here and there to keep things interesting. No one flipped over, and the only "issue" was that we kept thinking that we had passed the take-out point at the campground, but it was pretty obvious when we actually spotted the raft/marker that indicates the end of the journey. I would recommend this to anyone. It's inexpensive, fun, and on a side note, Worthy Burger turned out to be a great recommendation. The truffle fries were delicious, and they carry a nice selection of local beers. See more..
