I called and asked for a private lesson. When I arrived I was told that they don't differ lessons on weekends and that there were not enough guides for a private ride. I had driven 30 minutes so I stayed. The guide was nice, the trials were pleasant and the horse was gentle. But I wish I had known upfront what I was getting. See more..

Pond Hill Ranch offers everything a horse lover needs from scenic trail rides, to lessons and boarding along with a fully stocked on tack shop. If you are into western riding this is the number one place in Vermont to learn everything from cattle sorting and roping to barrel racing. This roadside stand is run by the Wheeler family and is adjacent to their farm.The prices for Wheeler's maple syrup was far less than all we saw around Wilmington. They are a member of the Cabot Cheese co-op. They sell their vegetables, flowers, maple syrup, maple syrup products, cheeses, jellies and homemade candies. See more..
