Big area, but not groomed everywhere and not everything is covered by snowmaking
The positives are big area, some fast lifts and gondolas. We found parking close to the lodges both days, they had bag storage in both lodges we tried, so we didn’t need to leave our street shoes in the cold car. We went with kids, who were confident up to high intermediate level. So the black ones with thin coverage or in icy conditions were out, that meant to traverse a lot to get to nice long runs. We found the Snowdown area the best. We got a snow stormy day and a second with sunny but windy weather. Only a few runs were groomed, most of them were icy with sudden deep powdery patches. A lot of runs still had thin coverage signs in mid February, as they don’t make snow on those and it was a warm year. I found the actual amount and quality of skiing not worth the extra expense compare to a cheap, but well groomed medium sized mountain. The lodge food was overpriced and mediocre in the Ramshead lodge, much better quality in the Peak Lodge, but there the grill line was very slow.

Doing the best with everything going on
We were there in mid-Jan, there was little natural snow and the temps were super cold. The mountain was doing there best with what the Snow Gods were giving them and worker shortages. The staff we interacted with great. Lodges were not busy and clean. I was happy my first Killington experience was uncrowded.
