This was a wonderful experience. Amazing restoration of historic home, very good 10 minute audio visual history. Stairs are involved throughout, even several steps to access ground floor from entrance. Gallery spaces, 4 rooms over 2 floors, in new building attached are well worth the time. Most impressed with Isabel Davies collection. Cafe and toilets on site. Free entry and plenty of untimed street parking.See more..

There are three separate sections to the museum as well as the free sculpture park. Heide III is the largest of the galleries, which is currently showing British sculpture Barbara Hepworth works. Heide II is located near to the cafe. HeideI is the original house and set in a pretty garden. Toilets are clean and wheelchair accessible. The cafe is very busy so I would suggest booking a table if you require a meal. The sculpture park is easy to access from the park.See more..

Harrietville, halfway between Mt Hotham and Bright is a picturesque small town with a history of gold mining that dates back to 1852. In 1962 a historical society was established, historical items collected and in time housed in and around an old miner's cottage (no age stated) in the main street of Harrietville.It only opens at weekends (we did not see inside) but worth a look as you drive through.See more..

We were staying at The Mitchelton and located in the Ashton Tower on premises in the basement is a free to enter Art Gallery with indigenous art works on display and for sale. We enjoyed strolling around the art gallery and viewing the indigenous art clollection which is very colourful, intricate and amazing to look at. Because of the amount of time it takes to create prices are high. Great paintings, suitable for display in a contemporary home.See more..
