My wife and I drove along The Great Ocean Road during our recent holiday in Torquay, where we stayed for two nights at The Sands Golf Resort. This was our eighth drive along the Great Ocean Road, as it is probably the most scenic drives in Australia. We visited a few places that we had not stopped at in our previous drives. In Fairhaven, we stopped to have a look at the famous "Pole House", which is a house built upon a pole with panoramic views of the ocean. Accommodation in the Pole House starts from $950 a night, with a minimum booking of two nights. We might stay here sometime in future, for the experience. See more..

This is a very popular drive from Melbourne but I would recommend doing it over two days. The winding roads give great views with special parking bays to keep you out of the traffic path. There were not many buses because of the travel bans for the thousands of Chinese tourists. It has been hard financially for the businesses. Nothing can take away from the beauty of the many sights like the Twelve Apostles, London Bridge, Port Campbell, Lorne, the Razorback etc. don’t miss the opportunity to visit. See more..

We visited on a beautiful January day. A lovely drive, windy , and would need to take care in winter. Some great views and vegetation, however not many spots to stop and enjoy enroute, so great for the passenger but the driver needed to concentrate on the windy road!. Would recommend. See more..

    - Great Drive

This is a great driving road since it hugs the ocean and has numerous scenic spots such as the 12 apostles and London Bridge rock formations. Thank goodness I did not have to drive since the road is at least 100 meters above the beach most places. We lucked out and drove it over 2 sunny and leisurely days. See more..

This small pull-out along Marysville-Woods Point Rd is worth a short stop to take in the views. The small off-road platform is on the right as you head down towards Maryville, and offers a delightful view into the valley See more..
