St Kilda Pier is a Melbourne landmark and has traditionally been one of Melbourne's most popular tourist attractions. Providing panoramic views of the Melbourne skyline and Port Phillip Bay, the pier is a popular destination for strolling, cycling, in-line skating and fishing. St Kilda's Little Penguin colony is well-known for making the breakwater its home, and is a popular tourist attraction. You can view the Little Penguins from the viewing platform at St Kilda Pier or by charter boat. St Kilda Pier has safe wheelchair access, lighting, handrails, drinking fountains, toilets, barbeques and a picnic and playground area. Only 5km from Melbourne CBD, St Kilda is well serviced by public transport. Take the tram from the heart of the city. Alternatively, car parking is available in the vicinity of the foreshore.See more..
4.0Cunningham Pier(202 reviews) - Excellent location for a restaurant but loss that bit of history which is Geelong Points of Interest & Landmarks • Piers & Boardwalks
Located on a pier and looking out into the bay, this is an excellent location to have a restaurant and rooftop bar. It used to be a buffet restaurant then a fish and chips shop before adopting the current reincarnation. From what I know, this used to be where they unloaded wool from ships and there would be a tram which brings the wool directly into the warehouse/city. A location with a lot of history but is unfortunately gone in the name of progress.See more..
4.5The Lorne Pier(59 reviews) - Beautiful views Friday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent 1-2 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks • Historic Walking Areas • Piers & Boardwalks
Such a lovely pier for strolling or fishing. Beautifully lit up at night time. Lovely views of Lorne from the pier and best of all for us was meeting Sammy the Seal who loves showing off in the water for his visitors. He was absolutely adorable. See more..
4.5Portarlington Pier(34 reviews) - From a boating perspective Piers & Boardwalks
We tend to look at Portarlington Pier from the perspective of someone who moors there once a year or so. Berths are run by the Parks authority and don't have any facilities such as power. They can't be booked but they are free. You are now able to stay up to five days in a two week period (originally it was only 48 hrs). However, most boats stay only a night or two before moving on. It is best to get there about midday because the tie up berths do fill up though when we arrived at 4pm there were still two berths available. Toilet facilities are on the foreshore and the Pier Street restaurant serves great food. The pier itself and the rock wall is pleasant to walk along and is usually quite busy. A great place to catch the sunset or sunrise and watch the ferry come in.See more..
Lovely wide pier for a stroll in the summer sun. Happy fishers catching a few down the end, and some squiding. Lovely views of nearby coastal heads & beaches. Will return with a Rod & picnic basket soon.See more..
This a very clean spot to put your boat in or fish off the jetty. Nice lawns and clean toilets and a bbq area as well. We have seen people swimming of the jetty too ( but not for me). There are 2 boat ramps. It is a nice place to have a picnic while fishingSee more..
