Mostly, we make Gin. An idea that was born from an aversion to getting up and driving to work in the morning and an appreciation for the calming effects of a libation poured over ice in the evening time. And so, Hurdle Creek Still came to be on the family property in the King Valley in March 2016. All of our products are made and bottled onsite in The StillHouse. Our double distilled base spirit is made from locally sourced grain using a traditional infusion mashing system which gives our gin a unique grain character. I found the service at The Whiskery to be very friendly and efficient, staff welcoming you at the door to seat you and also very friendly when delivery your food and beverages. We all tried different cocktails from the menu and it did not disappoint. Pizzas were simple but flavoursome and certainly hit the spot. We were moved off our high tables after about half an hour (as we had not made a booking) and made our way around to the fire pit out the front where we got to meet the Owners Russ and Lorelle - super friendly and you can see why this place is going to excel. I had the most surreal experience with a "Gin". It's called the "New Fashion" which is based off the "Old Fashioned" whiskey. Actually blew my mind that I was drinking a gin and not whiskey. We have 2.5 acres of MV06 Pinot Noir grapes grown on two distinct soil types. The name Suffoir is derived from the Suffolk sheep and pinot noir grapes on the property.
