    My husband and I have wanted to cross the Simpson Desert for a while now. However, it is such a remote part of the world we thought it dangerous to go by ourselves, having no experience of the Simo previously. So we signed up to Paul Stafford's trip from west to east in June 22, meeting in Alice Springs. Im so glad we did. We were led by John, a Simpson desert veteran. It was a relief to be guided through the tracks as we did have to alter the journey to avoid bad track conditions and flooding at Birdsville. The desert crossing is something I will never forget - it gets under your skin. And the sun rises and sun sets - jaw dropping every single day. We were a diverse bunch of people from all walks of life and levels of 4WDing experience and much fun was had by us all. Highly recommended. We have signed up to another of Paul's adventures next year. See more..
