Having very recently acquiring an interest in competitive horse racing, my husband and I had the joy of travelling from Melbourne to Wangaratta Turf Club.With plenty of coffee, food, wonderful weather, country horses, metropolitan and country jockeys, we celebrated the day alongside hundreds of others near and around the track which was immaculately presented. 2020 Cup was awesome and I enjoyed the experience enormously. Went to the Ballarat Cup which is run in November each year. Great Day and very well run. The Old Grandstand is magnificent and the amenities excellent. Being a country meeting you can get right up close to the horses and soak up the atmosphere. Well worth planning a visit. Country people are so friendly. We camped out at the racecourse for a couple of days and enjoyed our time immensely. We went to the Calcutta the night before and enjoyed a table at the function centre for the races. The day itself was great and there was a wonderful 'feeling' throughout the day. Kate did a great job organizing the weekend. If you get the chance to camp out take it as it is a relaxed way to enjoy the weekend. See more..

First time here for a race meeting. A country race club with great amenities. A lovely shaded area at the back of the stands, where you can sit back with the kids and have a great time. Great stand and viewing area for the races. See more..
