So pack your clubs and head for this par 73.5 course of 6197m, which is in striking contrast to the spectacular surrounding Mallee plains. We are the number 1 golf course on the Murray River. Our course is both beautiful and challenging, with a dramatic backdrop of river gums, artfully formed lakes and some very tricky signature holes that are endlessly discussed in the clubhouse. We have no hesitation in recommending this golf course, it is kept in terrific condition! Tees and greens are wonderful, fairways very decent considering it is February, magnificent trees, beautiful floral beds throughout, picturesque back 9 with some very interesting golfing challenges! The staff couldn’t have been more helpful, even coming on their day off to organise an electric cart for us. $100 included 2 adults playing 18 holes and an electric cart. Clubhouse is only open on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday for snacks and drinks etc. We will definitely return and will be recommending this course to all our golfer friends. See more..

ABGC is probably the friendliest club I have ever played. Although a nine hole course it is quite challenging with different teeing areas. The views are breathtaking. Very affordable $25 green fees or I bought a three month membership for $130. Clubhouse facilities are very clean and modern. A great, inclusive community spirit. Thank you to the members for making me feel so at home. See more..

    - Best value course in the country

    Port Fairy Golf Club image
Played Port Fairy early February. Green fees on a Sunday were under fifty bucks. From the road, you can see the lower and terraced holes, but have no real idea of what is to come. The walk to the third tee is the first time you see the ocean, and it's amazing from there. The walk from 11 to 12, and the subsequent run through to 16 across and around the dunes is spectacular. Great course, great modest clubhouse with friendly staff. See more..

  13. 4.0 Buninyong Golf Club (3 reviews)
    - Super course now
Spent More than 3 hours Golf Courses
I last reviwed this course some three years ago. But on a recent visit, boy, has it improved.

All couch fairways were lush, beautifully presented and shaped. Greens, as usual, were fast and arguably up there with the best in country Victoria. This time, too, bunkers had a good bed of sand, well groomed and edged.

The Club now has some 20 carts for hire with discount deals pretty attractive.
Mid-week traffic is fairly light with Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays usually being best. There are well-supported comps on on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, so visitors should steer clear of these..

Buninyong GC is now a seriously good golf course with a few km of Ballarat, and an easy drive from Geelong and Melbourne. Recommended.

The perfect golf club for the casual visitor to East Gippsland or a resident looking for a relaxed and affordable golfing experience. A not too challenging 18 holes with a rating of 123, well maintained grass greens, wide fairways and medium length. A course which can challenge the lower handicapper but not frighten the long handicapper.Guaranteed to be an enjoyable golf experience with very reasonable green fees. Yea Golf Club image
Was nice to be able to have a hit when visiting Yea. Nice course built around the Race Course. Well watered with nice fairways and greens. The one thing to be worked on is the marking of Tee areas - was a bit frustrating trying to find the next tee after playing a hole - missed a couple of holes as I could not find the next. No arrows or marking on some holes. See more..

  22. 4.0 Peterborough Golf Club (1 review)
    - A links style course - 9 holes only
    Spent 2-3 hours Golf Courses
We played this course Easter Monday. Out timing was perfect as there was a local mens comp underway and as we arrived, the comp players were all coming off the course for a lunch break between their two 9 hole rounds. It is truly a links style course which we found to be a lot of fun. Only one of our group (4 of us), hit his ball into the water on the 6th hole which has a water carry over an ocean inlet. A couple of the holes have a carry over a local road. One needs to take care! There is an honour box payment system. If we travel to this part of Victoria again, we'd probably play this course when there. The day we were there, it was slightly cool weather with drizzle patches every now and then. I imagine that due to the location of this course, in winter the weather would play a very important part in a game of golf. It could be be very challenging in those circumstances. The condition of the course was okay to good. The greens were well kept. See more..
  23. 4.0 Alexandra Golf Course (1 review)
    - Playing golf on holidays is always very good
    Spent 2-3 hours Golf Courses
    Alexandra Golf Course image
When on holidays, you must always take note of golf courses around the area. Whilst staying at the idyllic Lake Eildon, we battled the 37° heat at Alexandra Golf Course. Like most smaller, rural clubs, you are greeted by a receipt book and an honesty payment box. Do the right thing and contribute. Set over 5462 metres and meandering in and out of the Alexandra Racecourse, this par 70 course has no bunkers and only a couple of water hazards. Playing off the white tees, the course consists of five (5) par 3's, ten (10) par 4's and three (3) par 5's, the longest being 483m. The greens have a slope rating of 124, and once you couple the animal poop and leaf matter, it probably gets closer to a 130. This course is not going to challenge any metropolitan course, however if you feel like packing the clubs and having a game, you wont be disappointed. The best time of year to play would be just after winter as the fairways were very hard. If you are stupid enough to play on a day of 37° heat, best to tee of prior to 8am, or after 4pm. Apparently carts are available, maybe when the clubhouse is open, however buggies are available to use. Also, there is no water to drink around the course, so ensure you pack enough beverages to last the round. See more..

  25. Lonsdale Links (0 review)
Saturday: 7:00 AM - 10:00 PM Golf Courses
Lonsdale Links is a public-access 18 hole links course located in the coastal dunes of Point Lonsdale and bordering the beautiful Lake Victoria. The recently redeveloped course is now open and available to play. The course has been completely transformed to take advantage of the sweeping vistas across both new and old holes. Using trailblazer Charles Blair Macdonald and his colleagues Seth Raynor and Charles Banks as inspiration, course architects OCM have featured some template holes and designed the course as a deliberate throwback to an earlier age and a unique look for an Australian course. The redeveloped course has been highly regarded with a ranking of #20 in the 2022 Golf Australia Top 100 Courses in Australia. Sitting at the highest point on the course overlooking the water, the Clubhouse is welcoming to the public too with a separate restaurant, outdoor Kiosk and kid’s playground, making it a venue the whole family can enjoy. The Golfers Lounge boasts an open fire and sunset views across the lake. See more..
