We have been to the Wood Park Wines cellar door 8 - 10 times now and have enjoyed it each time. Whether it has been Stephen in the past serving us or as it was again this year Sharon, we always have an enjoyable time. We were there as per usual in late December. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly and the wines are great. The only problem if you can call it that is that we always seem to leave buying more wines than we intended! The Tuscan was a highlight as was the rare still prosecco. We love the place and will be back! See more..

  13. 4.5 Torquay Farmers' Market (12 reviews)
    - Enjoyable few hours at Torquay Market
Spent < 1 hour Farmers Markets
We visited the Farmers Market on the Torquay foreshore in June 2022 and although the weather was bad, there were enough stalls to wander for a few hours. There was live music as a great background, and we were able to find parking very easily despite there being a lot of people. After wards, we wandered across the road the a little cafe (which had public toilets either side ~ very handy after eating/drinking at the market) and we had a nice lunch and coffee before taking a walk along the lovely foreshore path. There were playgounds everywhere for the kids (including directly next to the cafe if you want a peaceful coffee while still being able to supervise the kiddies). In the warmer months, I imagine there would be more stalls to explore but there were enough to make the experience enjoyable. See more..

    Avenel Farmers Market image
It was recommended to me last Saturday that I attend the Twilight Market in Avenel for something to do... of course I didn't tell the person recommending it that I am not fond of markets. Whilst I am not fond of markets ---I am fond of supporting local businesses. A few stand outs for me were- *The coffee vans *Alpacas *Santa went past ( He is famous- everyone knows Santa) *Great choice of food *The artists stand where a lady had her beautiful artwork available on cards/calendars *The lavender ladyChristmas decorations *The friendly people... I even met a few locals *I met a crocodile... *and a dingo... *and saw a snake... *An author signing books I actually enjoyed my night... left with a book and a bag of vegetables. I recognised a few people too, even though I have only lived in the area for ten months. It's a lovely market. See more..

    Paddlewheel image
This was our first time to Koonwarra... so as this store was so visually pleasing and inviting that it made us stop to see what was inside. Imagine our delight when we realised there are fresh, locally sourced fruit and vegetables on offer. The others with me stepped right inside... I hesitated to take it all in and my interest was quickly taken by the 'handmade crumpets' at the front. They smelled heavenly. I was so fascinated by the idea that I took some home ( well of course---I paid for them first :) ) and found out first hand that they are quite delicious. The store reminds me of an old fashioned fresh food grocery store that were quite popular once and now with the advent of large supermarkets they are much harder to find. It has a beautiful range of food on offer. I took a bag full of produce with me... the lettuce smelled amazing and it tasted amazing too. Such a difference to what I am used to. Everything I left with has been so tasty. See more..
