2.5Odyssey Fun World(72 reviews) - What a waste of money Saturday: 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Amusement & Theme Parks
If you are looking for a zombie paintball hayride ....KEEP LOOKING i wanted to do something fun for my 10yr and 13yr old boys zombie safari is a big rip off first of all it is $22 to do it. Then first half of it is just zombie cutouts to shoot and there were only 4-6 real people to shoot. Then halfway through they stop for more paintballs and want $5 for more paintballs and your supposed to get 100 paintballs but I swear I only shot my gun probably 20times ...something seems shady Do yourself a favor don't stop here keep goingSee more..
2.0American Taxi(52 reviews) - Scammed from this company! Taxis & Shuttles Please stay away from the this company. The first time I ordered a cab from this company there was no problem. I ordered another one for tomorrow morning. I called the company in person to make the reservation. The man told me a price. I asked him three times the price again to midway airport. he quoted me $44.00. I agreed on the price. 5 minutes later he sent me a text, telling me a surcharge of $10 was goint to be added for fuel. He already told me on the phone I was paying a $5.00 surcharge for fuel. With the text the price would be $54.00. When I tried to first order it on line, the on line quote said they could not quote me, it would be up to the driver what to charge me!!!. I was furious is why I called instead. What a scam to lie to me on the phone one price and I agreed and send me a text of $10.00 more. Most people would just pay it. I will never order from your company again.See more..
This "zoo" is completely sickening! The animals look suicidal and are kept in very poor conditions. The owners are very rude and came off very racist to a group of foreigners who were taking a tour and even went as far as telling them to speak English and stop speaking their "gibberish". The whole trip was depressing. We don't recommend anyone wasting their time on such a disgusting place.See more..

2.0Mega Trampoline(21 reviews) - Dirty, but fun. Watch your kids. Saturday: 9:00 PM - 11:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Game & Entertainment Centers
I used to go here since I was a kid and till it was closed. The food here is pretty nasty as they serve old food and soda that has no taste and fizz. The trampolines and the ball pits are fun but dirty. Workers there are just teens that don't know the saftey protocals and they don't supervise the children. Trampolines are sometimes out of order or broken. I've seen a few accidents happen there too. You can easily get stuck and fall into the disgusting bottom pit under the trampolines. The ball pit is a real saftey hazard as it is easy to get stuck and hard to get out. The lazar tag is pretty fun and it is a plenty huge room to play in. Just remember to put shoes on before going in there. Im sad that this places is closing down as I have many memories here but I grew up and saw what was really wrong with this place and I understand why it is shutdown.See more..
Needed something to do with our family and our son's in-laws. The miniature golf courses were in poor shape, the lighting at night was spotty on some holes, and there were longer than expected waits due to large groups playing. We laughed making the best of it and went back the next afternoon!See more..
2.5Golf Mill Shopping Center(17 reviews) - Sad to see the mall near its end Saturday: 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM Spent More than 3 hours Shopping Malls
It is very sad to see the mall empty. Locals here do not support the mall. They continue to shop at Woodfield or Old Orchard. This mall used to have most of the brand names, now only a few continue the loyalty and have stuck around. This mall is in a very heavy traffic area but unfortunately sees very little business. Thanks to online shopping and neighbors who don't visit, all the small businesses/vendors within this mall will probably face total shut down soon. Remaining large brand stores include, bath body works, target, ross, jc penny, ulta and phone stores like t-mobile.See more..
2.5AMC Loews Quarry Cinemas 14(15 reviews) - Seats don't recline Spent 2-3 hours Movie Theaters • Game & Entertainment Centers

2.5Northwoods mall(15 reviews) - Going downhill fast Shopping Malls
The Northwoods mall has a few good stores left, but Macys closing anouncement as well as the clientel that hang out at the mall, one has to be choosy about the time of day to do shopping. I dont feel safe when I come here after dark, especially on the weekends.See more..
2.5Settler's Hill Golf Course(12 reviews) - Disappointed Golf Courses Went to Settlers Hill with a Friday late morning tee time for four - my wife and I & another couple. We did tee off on time but frustration soon set in. The Starter caught up to us about the 4th hole and asked us to let two 2-somes play thru. OK, no problem, let them play thru. But frustration set in as more and more 2-somes kept catching up to us. What true Starter let's 10, yes 10 I counted them, 2-somes go after a 4-some? Now I don't mind having a few play thru, but NOT 10. I'm not going to experience a 6 hour round by having them continually play thru. The Starter SHOULD HAVE paired up the 2-somes into 4-somes - just like every other golf course does. I liked the course and layout, BUT ..... Will I/we golf there again? Definitely NOT!See more..
2.5Peru Mall(12 reviews) - Okay good deals Shopping Malls
Okay, good deals, clean nice place to pass the time. Very few stores but it's nice. No food court. Some thing to do on a rainy day. See more..
2.5Adobe Gila(9 reviews) - Bear hunt in Des Plaines Bars & Clubs
Located in a plazza surrounded by various pubs/taverns/brasserie this cantina features a mexican based menu but american music.Other options were not as affordable. There is a complimentary salsa bar,see picture. The fried ice cream is not authentic receipe . Although the menu is not kid friendly the server Amoni offered some of the drinks as "virgin" versions for the kud.On the flip side we ordered $5 IPA and ended up paying $7 per 12 oz.So not cool Amoni to confuse 12 oz.with 20 oz.She had the chance to rectify this mistake.. Would return only for soecials like Thursday's $2 can Corona/Modelo combined with authentic music.See more..
2.5The Cherry Bowl(8 reviews) - A decent place for bowling with family and friends. Bowling Alleys PROS: located right beside Cherryvale Mall; free and abundant parking; decent food (although the wait time can be very long- 20 minutes for a large pizza!); average to older condition of equipment, monitors, shoes; clean locker rooms and bathrooms. CONS: older equipment ; very long wait time for food (see above).See more..
2.5University Mall(8 reviews) - It's a mall in a somewhat small town. Spent < 1 hour Shopping Malls This mall is pretty much exactly what you'd expect for a town the size of Carbondale. The stores are still open (mostly). There's a Gloria Jean's inside in you want a coffee, and you can go clothing shopping. You won't find all of the typical mall stores inside, but there are a few (Old Navy, JC Penney, Macy's, Hot Topic, Maurices, Journey's, Victoria's Secret, Buckle... a few more as well). I'm a big fan of Old Navy's activewear, so I tend to stop by the University Mall about once a month. The facility, including the bathrooms, is kept clean. It's somewhat quiet. If it's a cold day, and you want to go for a walk, you probably won't be the only one there walking the halls for a little exercise. You can walk around and/or buy stuff. Like I said... it's a mall.See more..
2.0Massage Envy Spa Shorewood(5 reviews) - Dissatisfied with service Saturday: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM Spas Good massage, poor front desk service. My husband bought the 150 dollar gift card with the free massage extra gift card. When I tried to use the free massage card it had 0 dollars on it. I found out I could not use it after getting a massage. I had to go to the location where my husband bought it to rectify the situation. I don' t understand why they couldn't figure it out over the phone. I was also disappointed my facial therapist had hands that smelled like smoke. This happened at the shorewood ,il location.See more..
2.5Steve's Antiques(4 reviews) - Disaster of junk! Antique Shops My wife and I were visiting Salem and checking out the antique stores and were hoping we could enjoy some time in what looked like a huge antique store. This place is a semi-dangerous disaster. I have never in my life seen anything like it. Decades of junk piled up over three stories. There is so much in here that has been buried there is no way you can ever see everything and most everything in there was as bad as or worse than flea market type junk. Almost no true antiques and what few decent things we stumbled upon were seriously over-priced. There is very poor lighting in most of the store with the clerk offering us a flashlight. What in the world is up with that? Do not waste your time in this oversized junk pile. See more..

2.5Marengo Ridge Golf Club(3 reviews) - Beautiful Golf Course at a Reasonable Price northwest of Chicago Golf Courses Marengo Ridge Golf Course is located northwest of Chicago off of Interstate 90 on Route 20. It is somewhat of a long drive and is located out in a rural area, yet the drive is worth it. This 18 hole golf course is in excellent shape, with well groomed bent grass fairways and well manicured greens. This course is suitable for intermediate golfers with wide, forgiving fairways, and challenging enough for better golfers as well. Plentiful sand traps are on the course with several holes encountering water. We golfed for an extremely low rate of $22/person with cart with a 3:30 pm tee off time. Green fees seem to range from $22 up to $37, and the course uses a special pricing formula where very good pricing exists quite often. In any case, this golf course is certainly worth it for this price range.See more..

2.5Heartland Classics Cars(3 reviews) - If You Love Cars Saturday: Spent 1-2 hours Speciality Museums
They have a large assortment of old cars and most are muscle cars and corvettes. I really enjoyed looking at all the cars. They have most of them priced if you are looking to buy one. The place is very hard to find and is not well marked. It is located in the large warehouse just to the south of the Peterbuilt dealership. The entrance is about half way down the building and has a small sign over the entrance.See more..
I went to this little gem to see a band that I had heard about, the place was cozy, and food and beverage prices were about average for this type of establishment........I think with a decor upgrade, this easily could be a 5 star location.See more..
They have wonderful tenderloins. They are huge and if you request 2 buns which you will need it is enough for 2 people.See more..
2.5University Of Illinois Gold Course(2 reviews) - Not really challenging Golf Courses I find the orange and the blue course to be flat and just golf. The greens are challenging, but really central Illinois has much better courses to play. If your not a very experienced player you may like this course due to the lack of hazards and flat lay out.See more..
2.5Rolando's Supper Club(2 reviews) - So-so Bars & Clubs We had heard rave about this place, so met a group of friends here for dinner and drinks. The drinks were reasonably priced and pretty good. I had heard a lot about their prime rib that was allegedly awesome. It was okay, however be at $40 it was wayyy overpriced. The service was good, but small town restaurants should not be charging big city prices. We will not go back. See more..
2.5Prairie Inn/Northside(2 reviews) - Lunch during town sales Bars & Clubs We were told the place had great food, so we stopped in for lunch. No fountain soda, can is 1.50. The place is very dark. The burgers are just like Steak n Shake. Nothing frilly about this place.See more..

2.5Valley of Eden Bird Sanctuary(2 reviews) - Beautiful Paths - Few Birds in the Fall Nature & Wildlife Areas It was a beautiful Fall sunny day at this Sanctuary and we enjoyed hiking one of the paths. We saw plenty of cows in the out-lining valleys and it was funny to see them watching us, guess not many people around in the area! We only saw a few birds at this time though. If we get in this area again during Spring or Summer, it would definately be worth stopping at. A nice colorful brochure of birds seen and a list of possible ones for your notations along with the trail map is available at the parking lot for your taking. Also, here's a suggestion you may want to note: when starting your hike, look at the position of the farmer's silo by the parking lot as a point of reference as you return.See more..
2.0Miner Street Tavern(2 reviews) - Good local bar - for the younger crowd Saturday: 12:00 PM - 12:00 AM Bars & Clubs
Nice local bar in the heart of Des Plaines but seems to cater more to a young crowd. A few games to play and tvs to watch sports on.See more..
2.5Chuggers pub(2 reviews) - A great little dive bar! Bars & Clubs It was just what you would expect in a dive bar. We look at "dive" as a good thing. Our bartender was great, drinks were very cheap and you could tell it was a place for the locals. They have frozen pizzas they can cook and a ton of TVs. If you like the "hole in the wall" bar scene, this is a great place!See more..
2.5Crystal Lake Antique Mall(2 reviews) - all-female family business Antique Shops Interesting building -- a former funeral home. There are ten rooms -- just follow the footprints on the floor to make sure you visit each of them. Changing inventory of of vintage, retro, collectible...and some legally-defined antiques -- kind of a flea market atmosphere with everything priced by the individual vendors..See more..
Basically a lowland bog, squashed between the busy rt 45 and South West highway. The center itself looks to be under construction. But a small trail winds around the area and looks like it will have a small amphitheatre. What now is a very nice patio with 2 viewing binoculars looking over the wetlands. We saw herons, geese, different kinds of ducks and spent a good half hour just observing 2 muskrats going back and forth. A nice spot for a quick respite or someplace to take the kids to. I look forward to the center being opened but hard to look at a nice nature area with the amount of traffic going by. See more..
2.5Illinois Caverns State Natural Area(2 reviews) - Think not your normal cave Caverns & Caves This is not a cave for everyone. You have to work at getting in and out and the formations are not hugh. This is a great place to just go have fun. See more..
Over the holidays while visiting family we went to "Home for the Holidays" a musical revue set in and soon after WWII. The performers were 2 men and 2 women. The 1st part was a USO show, the 2nd set in a nightclub soon after the war, and the 3rd part a reunion in Vermont, complete with the red "White Christmas" gowns for the women. It was so enjoyable, the singing, jokes, and patter all on pitch. The organizers were very welcoming and the seats comfortable. All in all very fun, hope the Leela Arts Center is around for a long time. FYI it is housed in the Masonic building in Des Plaines, the 2nd floor theater was used for years by the Des Plaines Theatre Guild. I enjoyed seeing where my parents saw plays for many years and am glad its still being utilized.See more..
2.0Willowpond Golf Course(1 review) - OK course Golf Courses This is the second of the two Rantoul golf courses. To get there you will drive through a rather depressing residential area, the course itself is fine, however less attractive than the municipal Brookville course. Fairways and greens are in okay condition. After the first 9 holes try to find the backside of the course. The on-site restaurant is a dark and unpleasant affair, I can't comment on the food since I wouldn't eat there. Reasonably priced.See more..
2.0Machelle's Back Street(1 review) - Chicago prices but definitely NOT Chicago! Bars & Clubs This WAS a great local little bar with friendly bartenders and some really solid drink selections, impressive beer selection and some quality local entertainment. Something happened - a few of us who used to be regulars are still baffled as to what that was - the regular bartenders left and the drink prices went sky-high. The place is great but the unbearably high prices for the same drinks that are being mixed and poured at other corner bars in La Salle and Peru for 1/4 of the price make the "new" Machelle's a fail. Sad to see it happen, this was a great, friendly little bar. See more..
2.0Lost Acre Tavern(1 review) - WARNING!! - YOU MAY GET LOST IN THE ACREAGE!! - SEE BELOW BEFORE YOU GO!! Bars & Clubs My son and I were on our way back to the Joliet area on a Thursday afternoon and decided to stop here for a quick beer. When we arrived, there were only two people sitting at the bar which was fine with us because sometimes you just don't need the noise and crowds of the bar atmosphere. I ordered a Miller draft and of course with my luck their tapper was not working so I opted for a bottle and my son ordered a bloody Mary which came in a very small glass. The first shock was when the bartender said that the total for both was $8.25 especially when we had just left another so-called famous bar owned by a former player of the "BEARS" and their pints of draft beer alone were $2.50. The next shock was when I wanted to start a tab and use my credit card and was told that they only accept "CASH". First of all I was very thankful that I had $10.00 with me and that we did not order any food in the place or we would have been cleaning the place for the owner. They definitely need to put a sign on the door that says "CASH ONLY". I do not recall seeing a sign at the door or behind the bar. And in this day and age with all of the terrible things going on in this world I am really surprised that a establishment would only accept cash. Easy prey for thieves. Anyways, if you are going to be going to Lost Acres make sure you have cash or you might be cleaning, doing dishes, etc. and may get lost there for days to pay your tab....See more..
2.0Rocks(1 review) - Waiter thought he was funny... he wasn't Saturday: 4:00 PM - 2:00 AM Bars & Clubs
FOOD. DRINKS. FUN. Rocks bar & restaurant is the hot spot to enjoy awesome food, great drinks and live entertainment. It's all right here at Par-A-Dice.See more..
2.0The Blue Heron Cafe(1 review) - small tavern Bars & Clubs I didn't find much on the menu to my liking, although I never tried their pizza. The sandwich was adequate, and they gave me free fries. I found out why the fries were free. Soaked in oil, and lacking any decent taste. This is a cash-only tavern. Come prepared. Highly recommend bringing small bills. I believe I got short-changed, but not much you can do after the money leaves your hand.See more..
