WARNING!! - YOU MAY GET LOST IN THE ACREAGE!! - SEE BELOW BEFORE YOU GO!!
My son and I were on our way back to the Joliet area on a Thursday afternoon and decided to stop here for a quick beer. When we arrived, there were only two people sitting at the bar which was fine with us because sometimes you just don't need the noise and crowds of the bar atmosphere. I ordered a Miller draft and of course with my luck their tapper was not working so I opted for a bottle and my son ordered a bloody Mary which came in a very small glass. The first shock was when the bartender said that the total for both was $8.25 especially when we had just left another so-called famous bar owned by a former player of the "BEARS" and their pints of draft beer alone were $2.50. The next shock was when I wanted to start a tab and use my credit card and was told that they only accept "CASH". First of all I was very thankful that I had $10.00 with me and that we did not order any food in the place or we would have been cleaning the place for the owner. They definitely need to put a sign on the door that says "CASH ONLY". I do not recall seeing a sign at the door or behind the bar. And in this day and age with all of the terrible things going on in this world I am really surprised that a establishment would only accept cash. Easy prey for thieves. Anyways, if you are going to be going to Lost Acres make sure you have cash or you might be cleaning, doing dishes, etc. and may get lost there for days to pay your tab....
