5.0Roaring Fork(1.326 reviews) - Gorgeous Views Nature & Wildlife Areas
Definitely worth driving through Roaring Fork! A one way drive through the Smoky Mountains with so much to see! We went over several bridges and were able to enjoy Little Pigeon Stream before it became an actual river. There are several old abandoned structures from yesteryear to explore and appreciate. There are are few great spots to stop and take a photo of downtown Gatlinburg from above the town. We were intent on seeing a bear, but we never did locate one, but several others I talked with did see a bear. Take it all in, it’s breathtaking. See more..

Visited on a beautiful sunny day in early Spring. Just me and my doggie. It's a $5 entrance, follow the path to parking and from there you have several trails to take. I took the Lakeside Trail all the way through, it really is 1 hr and 30 minutes trail walk. And I especially took my time stopping and admiring the peaceful views. Once I got back to the parking lot I took a few steps down to see the dam waterfall. Although it's called a "park" it truly is more than that, it's the spot for hiking and biking, a true gem of this city. Moved here 4 months ago, been here twice and will definitely be a frequent spot for me. Can't wait to see it in all 4 seasons but this place has a very tranquil feel. There's also a section to view animals but dogs are not allowed, so I didn't go through it this time. See more..

4.5Greenway Farms Conference Center(42 reviews) - Beautiful quiet for kayaking Sunday: 6:00 AM - 7:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas • Parks • Hiking Trails
I did not use the dog park. It always looks super busy. I went for a kayak launch and it's my favorite one around. There are steps down to the water and you get in and go downstream and can get out on the other side of the park. We usually take two cars and put one at the launch and one at the end point so we don't have to leave our kayaks and walk to the car. The creek is always deep year round from what we have seen and we honestly never see any other kayakers on the route. It's beautiful, peaceful and we always see lots of wildlife. Great place!t The wall picture is included because it's such an optical illusion. It looks like you are going downhill and fascinates us every time!See more..

This hike exceeded my expectations. Once you get into the hemlock forest the mood changes and the soft pine/peat-like ground sets the stage for more discoveries to come. We went clockwise on this loop and had to scramble through some big tricky boulders to get to the falls. This would be hard for smaller children and pets. For them I would suggest going counterclockwise and repeat your steps back once you reach the falls. You can see the falls from the rim, so if you are not able to hike then this would still feed your soul. See more..
