We reserved our spot several days in advance. We had 10 riders ranging from 6 to 48 years old. The younger kids had to ride their own horse. None of our smaller kids had ridden before and we were nervous. Audrianna (sp) was our guide. While lining up the horses they put our smaller kids up front closer to her. She was great and really talked to our kids while riding to make them feel comfortable. I felt like they really tried to pair riders up with certain horses. We did the 1 1/2 hour ride ($50 per person) which was muddy and hilly and fantastic. It was a great trail. The horses needed a lot of steering but we were warned of this in advance. I think it made the experience feel even more authentic. We will definitely visit again.See more..
4.0JuRo Stables(129 reviews) - Take a Tour, Save a Horse Sunday: 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM Horseback Riding Tours
I love that the proceeds go to rescuing horses. My daughter and I did the 1.5 hour tour. Honestly, I immediately regretted it after my old bones sat on the saddle. In the end it was wonderful. My horse Katie, stopped to munch every couple of minutes. There is no galloping in this tour. Just a calm walk through the forest. On our 30 minute private at the end, our volunteer explained about how the horses are cared for. Don’t forget to tip your guide and be gentle to your ride. See more..
Wildwood Stables is located at Fairfield Glade Golf Resort. The trails are excellent and the scenery is beautiful. Highly recommend this trail. They also have hayrides with excellent food and a play area for kids. It is perfect for families. There is an amazing 200 year old sycamore tree! The tree is recognized by the Urban Forestry Council in Nashville, TN on October 5, 2012, as a Landmark and Historic Tree. It was planted in 1864 by Hugh Center. The homestead was located along Walton Road which carried travelers across the state. Many famous people stopped by the Center home. The site was also had a school house/chapel and was the hub of activity in the area. The tree stands 94 ft. tall and is 16 ft. in circumference, with a crown spread of 165 ft. The tree is a wonderful place to marry with couples pledging their eternal love. Prayers said under the tree is believed to go straight to heaven. The TUFC has recognized 32 landmark, historic and heritage trees across the state to date. Wildwood Stable is also a stop on the Upper Cumberland Quilt Trail. The pattern chosen is called "Crossed Roads" which is significent to the heritage of the area and Tennessee.See more..
4.5Southeast Pack Trips(37 reviews) - Rock & Roll Girls!! Spent 2-3 hours Horseback Riding Tours
We just got back from a trip to Jamestown. Larry and Bobby are awesome. We had 10 in our group -7 of us have our own horses in FL, but did not want to trailer the 10 hours to ride our flatlanders in such mountainous terrain. Larry has a barn full of well conditioned, smooth gaited horses that are a joy to ride. The first day we rode for 14 miles and saw some wonderful scenery. The second day we rode for 21 miles and did an all day ride. We rode out to the old railroad bridge and along the creek. The fall leaf colors were at their peak and the weather was amazing. We had such a great time and Larry is an awesome guide. We are already planning our return trip!! So much easier to ride there than trailer the horses and camp in the LQ. Rock & Roll people!See more..
An amazing experience. We had zero experience with horses. Nevertheless the trained horses and our incredible instructor Josh made it an unforgettable two hours. He led us into the forest, we crossed streams and galloped in the fields. All that with zero experience. The kids were so happy. Highly recommend.See more..
They changed owners and the stables have been updated and everything was really nice. New owners were very friendly!! Will definitely go back.See more..
This is a Horse Camp accommodating folks traveling with their horses and it is an Incredible place for a riding destination. The entire facility is clean, neat, well organized, and the staff is fantastic. You can ride trails from easy to extremely technical, long or short and they are very well marked. They have a trail app as well as paper trails maps all listing length and approximate ride time. The views from the many vistas found on the trails are spectacular. We were there in August and the days got very hot in the afternoon so we rode out early and just as the temps were rising we were back at camp after a four or five hour ride. In the evenings we enjoyed a nice easy hour or so ride before calling it a night. If you like to travel with your horses in your LQ we would highly recommend you give these folks a serious look..See more..

I took 2 of my kids, one who had never been on a horse before and is 7. The ride was great. She had Stubby who decided to lead his way a couple times, but she was able to get him back in line. The horses stayed in their line aside from those couple times. The stables are clean and there are other farm animals on site. We enjoyed it so much we went on Wednesday and came back again on Friday and did another ride. Highly recommend for beginners to experienced riders.See more..
