This is an outstanding town library. My granddaughter can trace her love for books and reading directly to the many times we went to this library together. 6. 5.0 Maury County Archives (7 reviews)
    - An historical Gold Mine
    Libraries
    Maury County Archives image
This is truly an excellent place for researching anything related to Maury County and even some surrounding counties. I have seen some books from a majority of the counties in TN within this archive (some counties more than others of course). There is a wealth of information here and if you have local ties to this county, this place is definitely a must-visit place. Bob Duncan runs this archive and he is a source of a wealth of information. There are some ladies (and volunteers from time to time) that might can help as well, especially with giving you ideas and where and how to start your research. Note: Printed copies do cost money per page. (I can't remember but somewhere in the ball park of either 10 cents - 25 cents per page but don't quote me on that). See more..

The Grumpy Bookpeddler is an excellent used bookstore. It is a lot bigger inside than it looks from the outside. There are so many isles and tucked away spaces full of books. Every space has a chair to sit in so you can be comfortable while checking out the books. The have a whole room for kids books and they also sell a few records. They even offer a 10% military discount. Great bookstore with many titles. Any book lover would love The Grumpy Bookpeddler. Check it out. See more..

  11. 5.0 McMinn County Historical Society and Archives (2 reviews)
    - My new lunch spot for digging up bones.
    Sunday: Spent 1-2 hours Libraries
McMinn County Historical Society and Archives image
I had not been to the Historical Society until this year and I wish I had been there sooner! It has breathed new life into my genealogy hobby. It looks a small office with old books, but it is family stories and histories. I have even started a family file for my father's side of the family. Not only does it have local histories and books by local authors but the volunteers that work there are so knowledgable that must all of your questions get answered or you are lead in the right direction. Please go visit and take a look around. See more..
