My new lunch spot for digging up bones.
I had not been to the Historical Society until this year and I wish I had been there sooner! It has breathed new life into my genealogy hobby. It looks a small office with old books, but it is family stories and histories. I have even started a family file for my father's side of the family. Not only does it have local histories and books by local authors but the volunteers that work there are so knowledgable that must all of your questions get answered or you are lead in the right direction. Please go visit and take a look around.

McMinn County Historical Society and Archives
This is the place where one comes to do historical and genealogical research. I am not sure of the hours since it is staffed by volunteers. It has numerous books and other materials related to the history of the areal, as well as reels of materials such as census records, etc.
