Captain Scott and Captain Brycen provided an unforgettable adventure for our three families. The striper bite wasn’t on so we targeted blue’s/flathead’s and within 15 minutes we had our first fish over 35lbs. We went on to catch 20+ catfish, several well over 20lbs, with one weighing over 50lbs. Our families have young kids and the patience and instruction was top notch as was the professionalism of both Captains. Will did everything in his power to give us a noodling adventure and hook us up with a catfish. Unfortunately, it was just one of those days. Because we came up empty handed, Will offered us another trip next year. We will be taking him up on that offer. He was a great guide and lots of fun. We had the good fortune to kayak with Tony and Katie... It was a beautiful day and we paddled across the Little Tennessee River and down Citico Creek... down lots of fingers with beautiful canopy and growth along the banks. Tony was an excellent guide sharing lots of history and information about the area, and both Tony and Katie were incredibly warm and charming. We had a fantastic day of trout fly fishing with Jeff. My son is relatively new to the sport and Jeff was very helpful. We caught around 40 rainbow, including 7-8 in the 15-20 inch range. Jeff keeps things simple and did a great job putting us on fish in all types of water. A fantastic roast pork and sausage lunch with all the fixings was provided by Jeff as well. Southern Brookies is a beautiful place right on the Caney Fork river. I took intro to fly fishing with my brother and two of his boys. Susan is a great teacher. She is very knowledgeable and passionate about fly fishing. I left class today feeling much more confident in the basics of fly fishing. The on site casting pond was a great place to test our new skills and we were all able to catch fish. I can't wait to go back and stay a whole weekend, attend a fly tying class or a float trip.See more..

We, however, contacted the owner Ben seeking a boat tour of the lake for about a dozen of us who have a hiking and outdoor club. Ben was helpful, immediately enthusiastic, and happy to create exactly what we needed. He acknowledged that the weather might be unpredictable and was prepared with an alternate date - which we needed when there was heavy rain on the original date. To be clear, this was not your typical, cushy, pontoon boat cruise. Reelfoot is a shallow, swampy lake - but that's exactly what makes it uniquely beautiful. Ben had the type of boat that allowed us to the far reaches of the lake - places a typical boat or tour provider probably could or would not have gone. We saw bald eagles, a variety of ducks and other waterfowl. We saw the various kinds of vegetation and the iconic bald cypress in every variety of setting. Ben and his colleague explained what were seeing and answered our questions. Ben is clearly interested in creating all sorts of custom outings that go way beyond his bread and butter.
