4.5Clarksville Greenway(147 reviews) - The Clarksville Greenway Biking Trails • Hiking Trails • Scenic Walking Areas
The Clarksville Greenway is the place to go for a scenic walk, running, cycling, for a picnic, or just to enjoy the scenic beauty. The Greenway is a Rails to Trails project where old rail road beds have been cleared to make paved paths for exercise and recreation. The path crosses a 600 foot train trestle styled bridge. Along the sides of the paths there are benches, picnic tables, and swings. Enjoy the natural landscape as the path meanders along the river and keep an eye out for the abundant wildlife. The trail head is located at 1101 Pollard Road and is open from dawn to dusk daily. Bathroom facilities are available near the parking lot. There are two trails. The trail to the left is more level and is 2 miles one way so would be four miles to complete it and return to the parking lot. The trail to the right is 2.6 miles one way thus 5.2 miles round trip and is very hilly. Dogs are allowed on a leash, and pet waste disposal stations are available along the trail sides.See more..
Really nice path that extends practically all the way through Kingsport. You have to get off at one point to go all the way but it's a great ride or walk if you just cover what extends without getting off the path. There are shady areas , deer, ducks, a creek that runs along side....paths that go up to areas to eat , or shop. So you can take a break if you want.....check out a bike shop...get coffee at Starbucks ...another point where you come up to Petsmart, Tj Max , Ross, Ashley Furniture...Chilis , Olive Garden to name a few places in that Center. We love riding our bikes thereSee more..

5.0Crockett Park(45 reviews) - Great Park with Lots of Trails Biking Trails • Parks • Hiking Trails
This is a great and beautiful park with lots of paved trails. Lots of options for parking in different areas of this large park. The only downside is summer/fall sporting events. Despite all the signs asking folks by the sports fields not to put their chairs on the paved trails or to sit on the trails, they still do, making it inconvenient for walkers, runners, and cyclists on the trails. 4.5Shadows of the Past Hiking/Biking Trail(16 reviews) - Great way to see Townsend by foot or bike Biking Trails This hike/bike trail was established in 2002 and runs parallel along both sides of the main road through town beginning at the one lane concrete bridge at the west end of Townsend all the way to the Texaco and almost to the GSMNP entrance on the east end of town. It is a 10 mile loop if you travel the entire length, or you can start and stop anywhere you choose. Bring your own bike or rent one from AJ's Hearth and Kettle or just walk it. The Little River Railroad Museum, the GSM Heritage Center, artisan galleries and shops in Trillium Cove and the Townsend Visitor Center are all located right on the trail and make good stops, there are 13 additional marked locations along the trail describing the history and culture of this region from the earliest documented inhabitants from about 200 BC to present day. Don't miss the short nature walk slightly east of Nawger Nob - a short stroll through a wooded area with a wide variety of trees and plants marked for easy identification.See more..

5.0Stanky Creek Mountain Bike Trails(2 reviews) - Best mix of trail challenge in the Memphis area. Stanky Creek seems to have a little bit of everything for a XC trail. Saturday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent 1-2 hours Biking Trails Bike specific review as I have never run the trails or hiked them. This is by far the best trail in West TN. When considering the other trails around: Lakeland, WRT, TDW, Herb Parson, this trail has a little bit of each but has its own level of challenge. I have competed in races of 1,2,3 laps as well as 12 hour solo endurance races at Stanky and all have been a challenge and fun. There are technical portions, quick areas with narrow singletrack, and the trail has good elevation changes. Recently, the trail has seen some good work that has re-routed a small portion to address erosion and it has added a good bit of challenge. There are sections that I would not recommend a beginner to go on, the type of person that doesn't think to bring a helmet yet because they lack a little experience, but the trail is great for slow rides as well as for those that are pushing for personal bests.See more..

5.0Townsend Trail(1 review) - Hike and bike - easily and safely Biking Trails The Townsend Trail runs along both sides of HWY 321 in Townsend, TN. It extends from the eastern city limits of Townsend to the entrance of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It is asphalt paved and smooth. It is suitable for walkers or bikers. Baby strollers can be used on it as well. It is located a safe distance from the highway, so that you never feel endangered by automobile traffic. One side of the roadway is relatively flat and the other side has some rolling hills. It is about 4 1/2 miles long on each side of the highway so a round trip would be about 9 miles. There are plenty of places along the way to stop for a rest, to eat or to shop in local stores. Some parts of it are lit at night, but not all of it. It is a great way to see the local area.See more..
