The Clarksville Greenway

The Clarksville Greenway is the place to go for a scenic walk, running, cycling, for a picnic, or just to enjoy the scenic beauty. The Greenway is a Rails to Trails project where old rail road beds have been cleared to make paved paths for exercise and recreation. The path crosses a 600 foot train trestle styled bridge. Along the sides of the paths there are benches, picnic tables, and swings. Enjoy the natural landscape as the path meanders along the river and keep an eye out for the abundant wildlife. The trail head is located at 1101 Pollard Road and is open from dawn to dusk daily. Bathroom facilities are available near the parking lot. There are two trails. The trail to the left is more level and is 2 miles one way so would be four miles to complete it and return to the parking lot. The trail to the right is 2.6 miles one way thus 5.2 miles round trip and is very hilly. Dogs are allowed on a leash, and pet waste disposal stations are available along the trail sides.

    Gone running
We are from out of town but I always pack my running clothes and shoes. I wanted somewhere safe, picturesque and long enough to get in some miles. This was perfect! We started at the Pollard Road trailhead. There is a nice size parking lot and bathrooms. I felt safe the whole time and had 5 miles of beautiful scenery!

    Dos and Strollers!!
What a beautiful resource!! Too bad you can't actually use it. So many dogs (some off the leash) and strollers and small children wondering the trail that a legitimate bike ride is out of the question. Nice for a walk/run. Pay attention!
