Although she denied being part of the family, we could see she knew it all. We toured (a replica) of the "Butcher Holler" that Loretta was born in. To a more modern house she moved into when moving here. (Think of her "Gone With the Wind" looking house, ) we saw her golden records, and many awards in the museum. I see you can camp there too. Harvey was our train guide and at 83 watching him light up while telling us about trains was wonderful. He literally jumped off the moving train when the engine switched at our stopping point!!! Our conductor gave a great tour of the surroundings and on the way back played banjo in every car. Made me tear up when he played my grandma's favorite hymn. The cars are clean and well preserved. There an exhibit info on the wildlife of the area, major and minor folks who are famous in making music, like Koko Taylor and Karl Perkins. The museum was very clean, with cordial and knowledgeable attendants, plenty of brochures of the area and the state surrounding.
