    Quick stop at famous landmark
I wish I could rate this place a 2.5, we were somewhat disappointed. We came because we didn't think a visit to Chattanooga wouldn't be complete without a stop at the building that inspired the signature song. The building itself is beautifully restored and if you appreciate Beaux Arts style, turn of the 20th century buildings, I can recommend this attraction. The lobby is gorgeous and makes for great pictures. However, that's all I enjoyed about it. There are a few boutique stores and an ice cream shop but they were all closed when we visited on a Monday in July (maybe covid restricted hours? Not sure) The place was completely deserted. We walked into the courtyard and found two tracks with a locomotive and rail cars. The train is available for pictures but the inside is not accessible since most of the rail cars are part of the Choo choo hotel. The building that borders the other end of the courtyard houses more hotel rooms which look really old and run down from the outside. Again, I didn't see the inside but I wouldn't dream of paying over 200 dollars for the novelty of staying in a railcar that has no privacy. Anyone can walk in from the street and all around your "room" and try to peek into the windows. A quick photo op with the landmark, nothing more.

    Nice in-between stop
This was a very interesting place to walk around and see the trains and rail station, imagining the time period. You could get on the engine and the kids could play there, there's an arcade for the kids to enjoy, restaurants, and rocking chairs to relax. It's a great place in between stops to take 30 minutes and take in the scenery. Parking is convenient, especially when using the parking app and it cost a couple dollars to park very close by.
