The Harpeth is a middle Tennessee treasure. The section we floated (canoe) was true to its "Scenic" name, with high bluffs and trees overhanging the water, and lots of wildlife. We saw ducks, geese, blue egrets and even a bald eagle who swooped nearby, not once but twice. The temp and sky were nearly perfect. I guess it's always that way. And the water temp was also perfect, for those times we stopped, put down the paddles and splashed around. There were little families and big families all along the way. It was also a perfect afternoon spent with my daughter who returned to college the same evening we floated the Harpeth together. As my wife reminds me, 'it's what dad's with daughters do.' See more..
