We have used other outfitters on the Duck and other rivers and Higher Pursuits are in an elite class of their own. This was our 3rd time renting with H2O and each time we have had a great experience. Their prices are reasonable and Jennifer was particularly helpful when I needed to reduce my 8 hour rental to 4 hours the morning of the experience. We also have high praise for Connor, our deck hand. He was friendly and thorough in checking our pontoon and jet ski. We enjoyed our time so much the previous 2 times that we brought along some friends this time and they also had a great time! We have kayaked here several times. We decided to tent camp and kayak Oct 16. The river was very visible from our site. The site was clean, quiet and the port o potty was very clean and kept stocked with tp. There are very nice campers set up for those who like to glamp. Those are rented through Airbnb. It was a quaint, more intimate camping spot so the noise level was perfect. We ate dinner at their restaurant one night and the food was very good, the staff was friendly and the whole set up is just convenient. They definitely have a great gig going on and we are so glad we found them. The river was a little low so our kayak ride was not as smooth. This normally would not have mattered but it was only 62 degrees and I DID NOT WANT to tip. Over all, we had an awesome weekend and will definitely return.See more..
Great boat rental experience, from booking online, calling to ask questions and texts on what I needed to do before showing up for my reservation. When I arrived the boat was ready to go with life jackets and the rented tube. The boat was super clean, had GPS and stereo. All the staff we encountered were super friendly and helpful!! We found this location, it was a bit away from Nashville, but it was available and catered to the size of our party which was huge bonus. They didn't require us to pay for a captain, which meant we were able to drive ourselves. The boat came with a slide, Bluetooth, and a cooler which was extremely convenient. Decided to get away for the night for our Anniversary. We picked Cabin #4, which is simple with a bed, micro, and mini fridge, as well as a bathroom. The views were spectacular, the seclusion was nice, it's peaceful, and right on the lake. The marina is a short walk so if you want to rent a boat you can. Check in and out was a breeze. My daughter and I stayed the weekend and were so pleased with our stay. The place was so warm and inviting. It was spotless and we felt totally safe. At night they light a fire and the conversation and atmosphere were wonderful. My husband and I had a great time floating the Elk river in a canoe with Elk River Adventures. Lorne and Connie are the nicest people and were super accommodating when we wanted to change the date of our reservation. It was a 12 mile float and Lorne gave great, easy to remember directions to help us navigate the river. It was a very relaxing trip and we didn’t have to work too hard paddling. It was really nice to just text them for a pick up when we hit the landmark point instead of having to stress about making it to the pick up point at a specific time.
