  1. 4.5 Mayfield Dairy Farm (265 reviews)
    - Best ice cream ever
    Thursday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Farms
    Mayfield Dairy Farm image
A great pit stop on the family trip. The tour isn't too long, but long enough to see and learn some interesting facts and history. You only physically see the packaging process. No real cows at this facility. Afterwards you get a super fresh scoop of ice cream that is very good. Eat lunch first though because no real food is served here. See more..
  2. 4.5 Carver Orchards & Farm Market (264 reviews)
    - A Source for Fall Must Haves
    Thursday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM Farms
Carver Orchards & Farm Market image
The drive alone makes this a worthy shopping trip. Beautiful countryside through the mountains weaving roads that open up into an apple orchard vastly planted up to where the mountain rises up. At the top of the drive way you can already smell the chicken frying at the adjacent restaurant. But when you step inside the Farm Market the smell of an Apple hand pie fills the air here. I purchase many varieties of apples (depending on what is in season), apple cider, canned (I mean jar goods), fresh veggies, pumpkins, onions, and the like. You never know what you will find but you will for sure find a candy store across the parking lot as you walk out! (Yes, they take credit cards) See more..
  3. 4.5 Sweetwater Valley Farm (216 reviews)
    - Worth a Visit!
    Thursday: 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM Farms
    Sweetwater Valley Farm image
We took a tour of the farm and it was fascinating. The tour guide was very knowledgable and provided some great information. We got to watch the robots milk the cows and were very impressed with the level of care for the milking process and the well-being of the cows. After the tour, you MUST treat yourself with the best, freshest grilled cheese sandwich ever! We had the Big Cheese and the Allthecheese. Both were very good, but the Allthecheese was the favorite. Make sure you try the Coffee Cream Special...coffee with a scoop of vanilla ice cream in it! Now its time to head to check out the gift shop then head over to the cheese store. you can sample any of the cheeses, which are made form the milk of the cows that eat the grain thats grown on the farm from seed. Cant get fresher than that! We eneded up buying several cheeses to take home...they are all delicious! Overall, a very educational and delicious experience! See more..

    - Amazing!
    Farms
This farm is amazing. First to rescue these animals is one thing, but the love of the owner is just beyond! We took Daisy Troop as a part of their journey badge about taking care of animals. Girls were able to help water, feed and muck out stalls! Plus learning so much like how valuable chicken poop is, goats have 4 stomachs p, which sheep has best sheering wool and how sheep have nerves that help the sheering process….we learned so much more! Plus being able to love on the animals, Twinkie was the BEST! Howdy won my heart forever. The stories of these animals will pull the heart stings and the owner knows every single animal names. This seems easy until you realize so many animals look so similar you loose track! I can’t say enough about how wonderful the owner and her farm helper the day we went were amazing at sharing and helping the girls learn about taking care of animals! I could have moved to the farm that day, I never wanted to leave! See more..
