Great historic home to visit

What a neat historical gem. This was so well put together. You begin with watching a video, touring the museum and then touring the grounds and the home. Great tour. Sad story about a brave young man and his family.

Home of a boy hero of the Civil War
I had no idea who Sam Davis was but knew he was in the Civil War upon reading about him so figured I would stop. There is free parking, reasonable prices for the tour, and friendly staff. There is a 15 minute movie you watch at the welcome center/museum before going on the house/grounds tour to learn about his history. The home and grounds are well preserved with most of the artifacts in the home belonging to the family. Well worth going even if you aren't a Civil War aficionado

    True Hero
Staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Love the quote I’d give a thousand lives rather than betray a friend. He was hanged by federal troops because he simply would not point out his commander in the same cell block. This is what we should share with our children not have them think Batman and Superman are heroes. A 20 year old gave his life rather than be dishonorable. A lesson for us all.
