    Lookout Mountain image
This mountain ridge is home to three scenic attractions: Ruby Falls, Rock City, and the Incline Railway. Ruby Falls is the country’s tallest and deepest underground waterfall at 260 feet, while Rock City is where you can supposedly see seven states at the iconic Lover’s Leap. Then, brace yourself as you hop on the Incline Railway—the steepest passenger railway in the world. We recommend you spend at least 4 hours at Lookout Mountain to experience the highlights. Each attraction is priced separately and tickets sell out fast, so book early to secure your spot. – Tripadvisor See more..

The Gatlinburg Scenic Overlook offers breathtaking views of downtown Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains. The Gatlinburg Overlook is located on the Gatlinburg Bypass which runs between the Gatlinburg Spur and Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The Gatlinburg Spur runs between Pigeon Forge TN and Gatlinburg. The Bypass is accessible from the Spur or from the National Park. There are four parking areas on the Bypass. You can exit your vehicle and take in the views. We recommend the 2nd and 3rd parking areas. From the overlooks, you will see the entire town of Gatlinburg with its majestic mountain backdrop. First, this is not a hike. But, if you are in the area I would definitely recommend a stop to see it. It's a short drive from the interstate exit. From the parking area, it's an easy 1/2 mile walk to the lookout. Make sure you have a hold of any little ones because it's a long fall off the side of the lookout. Great view! See more..

Such a beautiful place to view Chattanooga from Lookout Mountain! Parking is free, but the lot has limited spots (about 8 spots). You enter through a gate and follow the stone pathway to Sunset Rock- about 15 min walk. One of the best stops during our trip! See more..

    Sunset Rock Overlook image
My husband and I stumbled upon Sunset Rock Overlook en route to Ruby Falls and stopped to take in the view. The overlook has a beautiful view of the green hills! We returned the next day to take in the view a bit more and to drone in the area. While there, we met someone from the Chamber of Commerce who gave us some great recommendations for stops in the area and recommended Welch's Point as a better option for sunset so we didn't take in sunset here, but the daytime view was pretty too!
