For The Best Views Of Gatlinburg

The Gatlinburg Scenic Overlook offers breathtaking views of downtown Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains. The Gatlinburg Overlook is located on the Gatlinburg Bypass which runs between the Gatlinburg Spur and Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The Gatlinburg Spur runs between Pigeon Forge TN and Gatlinburg. The Bypass is accessible from the Spur or from the National Park. There are four parking areas on the Bypass. You can exit your vehicle and take in the views. We recommend the 2nd and 3rd parking areas. From the overlooks, you will see the entire town of Gatlinburg with its majestic mountain backdrop.

    Great Photo Stop
Taking the by-pass brings you around all the downtown Gatlinburg traffic. This route is very valuable during high traffic months or events. However, there is a pull off mid way which has the best view of Gatlinburg and the Great Smokey Mountains. This is a must see when visiting the area and makes a great photo stop. Also, you'll never know when you just may run across a local bear running down the road.

    Motor tour
The Gatlinburg bypass and Cades Cove motorcar tour is beautiful but almost bumper to bumper this month. A carload of New Yorkers a few cars back kept honking and yelling to speed up even though the park's Cades Motor Trail has a 10 m.p.h. speed limit. Where are they going? The views are spectacular! Saw a group out of their vehicles chasing down a black bear for a photo! Stupid and dangerous to all including wildlife. What are we thinking people!
