Worth the Money, Get There Early!
With a family of five, I always have to weigh the cost versus reward when deciding what to do on vacation. This was money well spent!!! Although my husband is terrified of heights, he enjoyed the views from the top and was glad he went. My only complaint was how the pictures were handled. They take your picture at the bottom before you get on, then again at the top while you are on the sky lift. But it is apparently two different photography companies. So when we exited the lift, we purchased two digital pictures, one of each of our sky lift cars. After crossing the bridge, we were offered the package from the beginning of the trip and those pics were actually better. But I didn’t buy them because I had already purchased the others. I would have like to have been shown all of the options before making a purchase. Later in the day, we rode back up and skipped the bottom pictures, but looked at our tram pictures again. I told her I wasn’t buying them because we had already bought them that morning. But, she said since we had bought some, I could add a digital on the latest pics for just $4 each. What??? That was practically free compared to what I had paid for the first ones. Other than being a little disgruntled about pictures, this place was absolutely amazing. They have a great gift shop, rocking chairs to sit and look at the mountains, and spectacular views. The bridge was super fun to cross, although it was slow going across because of the number of people. Go early for this!!! It was so much better with fewer people in the morning than it was with the massive crowds later in the day.

Wonderful time
We recently visited the Ski Lift in Gatlinburg and had a great evening, with an added value thanks to their employee, Shannon. We asked him how long the bridge was and as a long- time resident of the area. he provided us the information as well as the history of the mountain and the surrounding area. He also encouraged us to do a little shopping while waiting for the sun to go done, so that we could enjoy the ride down and witness the beauty of the night sky and city lights. Thanks. Shannon. PS they will not ask if you are a senior, but note they do offer a five-dollar discount.
