Fall Creek Falls Riding Stables, Tennessee, United States

Definitely would come back again

I took 2 of my kids, one who had never been on a horse before and is 7. The ride was great. She had Stubby who decided to lead his way a couple times, but she was able to get him back in line. The horses stayed in their line aside from those couple times. The stables are clean and there are other farm animals on site. We enjoyed it so much we went on Wednesday and came back again on Friday and did another ride. Highly recommend for beginners to experienced riders.

    Beautiful but not great
I have to be honest with this review. My 8 yr old son and I had gone horseback riding a few days earlier in Knoxville and had such a great time that we wanted to go again. Unfortunately this experience left much to be desired in comparison. On the good note, the park is beautiful and the gentleman who greeted us was very kind. The barn is clean and there was much availability for a last minute ride. There are camals and antiques on site. After that, I recommend you go at your own risk. This was my son's second time on a horse and his horse along with mine were difficult to control. They went off the path leading us through thorny trees, small spaces and wet ground. My horse even squeezed between two trees, jamming my knee into the tree trunk causing my knee to get cut. I'm glad I wore a helmet because thorny branches would knock into my face/head. I had to constantly duck or push them aside. I did try to control the horse with the reigns but the horse would shake his head and still go his own way. The last thing the horses didn't stay in line and my son ended up in the back. The guide didn't help and when my son's horse stopped and he started to fall behind, I had to help him get the horse started. The guide wasn't aware until I had him stop and didn't help throughout the ride. So I don't want to tell not to ride, just be prepared to be firm with your horse and get a few scratches. Enjoy the scenery.
