Beautiful park and historical site

This 1000 acre historic park offers a great experience to enjoy the outdoors and learn of Johnsonville's long history. A museum, theater, gift shop, and extensive hiking/walking trails are some of the areas main activities. More information on this park and many more can be found at the TN State Parks website.

    interesting museum and beatiful trail
I have lived here 25 years and never been to the park. the museum was very interesting and the worker was very informative. The trails were very well marked on the trees which was good since the paths were covered with leaves. It was an easily travelled and beautiful path. This place is full of history.

    Johnsonville State Park visit
There was a significant Civil War skirmish that took place here in February 1862. We were traveling to Hurricane Mills when we saw the sign, so we decided to pick up a brochure and quickly drive through and stop at significant places on the battlefield. The Visitor's center did not open until 12pm so we weren't able to visit that location. I might have to revisit this site next time I'm in Tennessee.
