Excellent state park experience
This park is one of the highest elevation parks in West Tennessee, and is great for family retreat. Peddle and row boats are available for rent on Lake Placid, and there are also bike friendly roads. More information on this park and many more can be found at the TN State Parks website.

Nice stay - appreciate pet friendly cabins!
I stayed at the park for a recent mini family reunion. We rented two cabins and one couple stayed at the campground. FYI, you can walk between the two, but not easily, you really need to drive between the two. We stayed in Cabin 5. It was perfectly clean and comfortable. My husband and I actually slept in the separate twin beds in the bedroom, with a dog one the floor beside each of us. The blinds in the cabin do a great job of blocking out the sunlight. We had plenty of towels, and the kitchen had all of the items we needed. Our only issue..........no WiFi. I had one phone bar when I stood outside of the cabin. If we walked up and stood in the road, we could get a little bit of WiFi. My parents seemed to have much better WiFi in the campground. When we went trail riding, we had excellent phone reception. All of the employees at the park were friendly. We fished, and rented paddle boats and kayaks. I know the stables are leased out, but we had a nice trail ride too. I would come back.

Rent a horse at the in-park stables!
This is a beautiful park to visit. I had the opportunity to rent a horse at Chickasaw Riding Stables which is located inside the park. The guided trail ride was wonderful. The guide was great and the price is reasonable. I highly recommend this activity if you visit this park.
