Nice fort and walking trail

This park is a great balance between the brief but ever-so important history of Sycamore Shoals and great hiking. There are points along the trail to help hikers understand what occurred at Sycamore Shoals and why it was so important. This park also has an amphitheater which hosts all sorts of events. More information on this park and many more can be found at the TN State Parks website.

Very wonderful and large Fort, As well as a very nice museum.
An absolute wonderful recreation of a frontier palisade Fort. This area also played its part in the overmountain mountain men off to fight at king's mountain. As well as other known historical figures were also at the Fort. There is a very nice medium sized museum at the site. All of the stuff that I spoke to were very nice.

    Excellent US history resource
We arrived on Sept 12th, just in time to see the end of the SAR reenactment of the Overmountain Men. Having ancestry that goes back to those men made it even more exciting. Great place to learn about the battle that turned the war!
