Beautiful Cascading Falls
This park is known for its cascading waterfalls and beautiful water. This park is great for fishing, but it is recommended that swimmers be weary of the dam, and waters of unknown depths due to possible deadly currents. Some of the nicest TNStatePark cabins available are in this park, along with many camping sites. Picnicking and freestyle kayaking are also enjoyed at this park. More information on this park and many more can be found at the TN State Parks website.

Falls are great! Great hiking too.
You will enjoy the park overall. We did have to report some bedding issues to the office. The mattress cover had some major staining from a previous guest. The Office Staff was helpful. One thing I will say is DON'T stop at the Rock Island Market (despite the name, it is NOT affiliated with the park ) that is located just outside the park. My daughter brought the fact that some food was out of date to which they placed right back on the shelf. They are way overpriced on everything too. Stop for gas before you visit the park. Plenty of other options for other necessities nearby.

About the cabins…
Rock Island State Park is a lovely place to visit for easy hiking. There are several well-maintained, easy trails to enjoy. There are several nice picknicking areas. The cabins are roomy and well-equipped (including a washer and dryer, which is not mentioned on their site), but there is a lack of comfortable seating in the living area. The arrangement in our cabin consisted of one couch/chaise, which was very uncomfortable (maybe the springs are shot?), facing the fireplace. While we didn’t watch TV, I’m not sure how anyone could sit on the couch and do that without getting a crick in their necks. The front and back porches each have seating for four people.
