    Local escape to Radnor Lake
Radnor Lake State Park has been one of our favorite Nashville spots for decades, including when we were in college to study and relax as well. The park offers good trails, most of which are easy to hike/walk. We always see wildlife there, even when temperatures are near freezing! We highly recommend Radnor Lake for visitors of all ages.

Get there early for easier parking
We visited Radnor Lake on a beautiful December morning and first attempted to park in the East Lot, which was totally full. The Visitor Center wasn’t much better, but we did manage to get a spot and off we went. What a gorgeous hike. The combination of the lake and the woods were stunning. We didn’t really follow any one specific trail but it was very easy to navigate — the lake is an easy landmark to find your way back, and the directional signage is well-placed. The visitor center is also very nice, with a water fill station and clean restrooms.
